I’m going Clayton 2.5” on mine (showed up today!) with 37s. I’ll have it installed in a week or two. I can always upgrade to 3.5” later as the arms and track bars are the expensive bits. New springs/bumps aren’t too bad if I want more height.
Can't wait to see it!

finished installing the Clayton lift today. I’ll get better pics after I install the AEV front and rear bumpers over the weekend. But this is it on 37” K02

Yeah actually looks proportionate. Are those 17 inch or 18 inch wheels? and did you go with a 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch lift.

Starting to think about swapping down to 2.5” coils. The 3.5” kit is tall and that looks better and lower never hurts.

17x8.5 method 703s for the wheels. It’s the 2.5” Overland+ lift.
How do you feel by only getting about an inch over the factory lift? Is it satisfactory in terms of the way that you wheel?

Looking at this now the 2.5 inch definitely seems fine with the BFG K02 37s.

It doesn’t bother me. I don’t think about it in terms of “lift over factory”, more about what capabilities did I want in the end. Ultimately I wanted the articulation of the clayton arms along with the load capacity of their springs. It rides much better than factory (less floaty), and with the Fox shocks it’s fully adjustable.

2.5” to me is perfect if you‘re sticking with 37s of any brand. Could probably even go 38s if you wanted to. But this is perfect for my goals.

Next is 4.56 gear conversion

^ This. The adjustable control arms and trackbars are much more important than the height.

Also I'd go 4.88s+ for the trade.

I didn’t want to do 4.88 as 37 is the largest I would run, and might even drop down to 35s at some point. Plus feels like 4.56 is the most versatile on the 392

Just for reference... here is my XR with the Metalcloak 2.5" with stock wheels and tires (315/70R17). I gained about 1.5" in the front. The rear was about 2" taller than the front and I swapped for 2 door 2.5" rear springs to level it out.

Yeah I agree. 37s and I'd want 4.88s but it sounds like he may go down to 35s.

I've bit the bullet and re-regeared before and it hurts lol.

That is the beauty of the 392, it actually is driver preference what gearing you want. If you are a stop light drag racer, 4.88 is great. There is only 1 stop light in 30 miles of me. My street is 50 mph and next turn is 65 Mph. I might not see another car in 20 miles. 35s and 3.73s is perfect for me and I see 8th gear and 18-20 mpg every tank.
