EDIT: Gathering will be Sunday March 30th, @Barnwell Mountain Recreation Park

I will be getting there early, aiming for 8:00 a.m. Rain Or Shine! If it's wet, it just means we probably do less trails, or at minimum easier trail! ;)

--------------

So I definitely am going to be doing an off-roading trip in March, probably on a Sunday. Not sure which Sunday yet. I figure we're far enough in advance, maybe I just wanted to see who would be interested in coming and what y'all's availability would be?

I'm going to tag some people I know who said they wanted to go last go around, but didn't find out soon enough. Also I'm open to any three big places near DFW, Northwest OHV and Crossbar are equidistant from me, And I'm open to the idea of doing Barnwell, I know that's closer to people like @BDinTX ... Just you know, that 3-hour drive there and back, I'm going to have to plan for it a little more.

@Tread4Lo @HydroBlue22 @shagles @grandsrus @ParadigmDawg @Mudduck
@mwilk012

If I'm missing other people who were interested, my bad it's been a couple months and I am forgetful.

But yeah let me know, what y'all would be interested in doing if you would like to come?

I'd be interested, but same deal as @grandsrus, so depends on the day and how the missus feels.

Interested but a little too far out for me to commit.
I need at least a 2 week notice but no more than 3... 😆

I'm kind of leaning towards Barnwell. I feel like of the people who have responded, it would be closest for the most of them.

Also because it's such a long drive for me, 3 hours each way, it probably wouldn't be a bad one to get out of the way early in the season.

Also, so I understand, there's not a lot of rocks there, it's mostly technical obstacles and gaps and such, which would be ideal since I'll be newly on 37s and not looking to break anything too soon.

For sure April is going to be Crossbar. I'll be taking my granddaughter on that one, and I'll probably just hang out in the scenic/easy trails so that she can have a good first experience off-roading.

Looks like Crossbar and Bridgeport are both 2 hours from us and Barnwell is 2 hr 25, so not too bad. The drive to barnwell is nicer too. Don't have to go through DFW at all. I could MAYBE go on the 9th or 30th.

I've come to the decision...

MARCH 30TH @ BARNWELL MOUNTAIN RECREATION PARK

I'm going to be aiming to get there early, I believe they open at 8:00 a.m., so I'm going to be shooting to get there about 8:00 or 9:00 a.m.:
8 a.m. if it's just me.
9 a.m. if my Dad tags along.

Hope to see y'all there!

Btw, as we all know, this is Texas rainy season in the middle of March, so I will be going rain or shine. Obviously if it's raining I probably won't do as much because I'm not a huge fan of mud, but I got a winch, and I got some recovery equipment so worst case scenario I can recover myself or others if need be. 🤗

I got it on my calendar. Also, there is no mud at Barnwell, only red clay. It gets slick AF. Still fun though.
Yeah, If it's wet up there, it's going to be slicker than an oil patch!!

Honestly, I'll be going regardless. Might be a little choosier about where I take the Jeep, but I'm still going to go.

I can always go back again in August when everything is bone dry in Texas. That way I can experience it both ways if it comes down to that. ;)
