Thankfully my Motive has been good to me over the years, but I always check everything regardless.

Assume nothing, verify everything. Only way to go about troubleshooting.

Yeah it had good reviews. I think we just got unlucky. We were still able to use it but i had to just keep pumping it up to keep the psi up.

Oof I'm sorry to hear all that. I do somewhat regret taking the stock clutch out. I was just worried about it exploding and burning down on the freeway.

And I had the same thinking. I was getting burning smell from clutch (in 2019/when new) and the papers in the mail talking about catching on fire/explosions. I called the dealership, and they indicated that there wasn't a solution. Like you, I didn't want to wait on dealership (or for Jeep to burn to the ground) so went with an 'upgrade'.

I've owned MT for over 30 years and love them - except for this one...

The whole recall is a disaster from top to bottom. If your "fix" is so bad that there's an entire Facebook group created about it's failures maybe you should feel bad about that.

The other day I was rereading the original ACT clutch thread (Exploded JL Clutch!), and noticed ACT/Dirk made a comment his JK has always been difficult to shift into 1st. I thought in a video he mentioned he has an ACT clutch in his JK.

I’m not sure what to takeaway from his comment, and I’m not implying anything, it’s just interesting now in light of the shifting issues many of us ACT JP6-HDSS owners have

All I can say is my JL shifted smooth for almost 5 years. Never had a single issue with any gear. There's nothing normal about how it is shifting now.

New Motive pump showed up today. I haven't checked it out. Hopefully, the maker checked it.

I know the company is closed for the holidays. According to their website they are closed Dec 25th-Jan 1st.

Yeah, you'd think he'd want to get to the bottom of it. Just good business, right? A properly operated clutch should last longer than 5 years.

CFII kit is the way to go imo.
Shifts so smoothly, no groans.

Gets rid of the JL factory hydraulics.

Yeah, I have one in my Civic that is 23 years old and has 283,000mi on it. Those 283,000mi are all in-town driving with 15 or so years in Tampa rush hour.

I just sent CF a message asking if this will work with the OE clutch and asking how it's different than the OE master and slave. To me, these look like the OE cylinders, with some minor mods. I just don't think CF made their own injection molds.

If i recall correctly, they are OEM JK hydraulics modified to actuate a JL/JT clutch.

Well, I just bought the Centerforce Hydraulics. Should have them on tuesday. So Im kicking off the new year with some bleeding(hopefully just brake fluid)
