Ran out to Home Depot, get home and get out of my Jeep and I smell burning oil! Pop the hood and smoking pretty good. Look underneath and oil not dripping but running down from somewhere, I’d say about 2-3 qts worth. Crawl underneath and I could see oil all over the bottom of the tranny. Oil pan and drain plug dry, appears to be running down the passenger side of the motor somewhere. Pop the hood, dipstick and cap good! Small spatter on passenger side and looks like it’s come from the side of the motor somewhere. Called AAA and had it towed to the dealership. I call the service dept and let them know it’s on the way in and what was going on. He says “have you ever had your oil changed and where”? I said yeah, by you guy, I take it there for all my service work and was just there 3 weeks ago! He says” oh, ok we will take a look at it and see what the issue is?” Almost like he was fishing to blame something or someone right of the bat! It’s a 2023 High Tide with only 11k miles! WTF!?

I rented a Wrangler through Turo that had just been serviced by a local dealer. Lots of check engine lights after going over a tiny obstacle.

They apparently forgot to drain the oil prior to putting the new stuff in. Oil was everywhere.

Because they were looking to blame you. Blame game happen to me on my first “free” change on my Diesel pickup. I showed up after the oil change, it is sitting in a pool of oil. Made them push it back in, and they had air ratcheted the plug thru the pan. They asked where I had my other oil changes done, I was like uh it has 2500 miles. This is the first one. They had to pull the engine to replace the pan on my brand new pickup.

I don’t have a lot of trust in the dealerships service! Seems like all the new rookies are doing the oil changes/ filter changes etc.

Yeah, he changed his tune immediately when I told him they had done my oil change less than a month ago!

So do it yourself so you don't need to wonder if it was done right. It's been discussed countless times on this forum and yet you sound surprised this happned to you.

Can’t argue that! From now on I will. Lessons learned!

Use the Mopar app/maintenance feature to keep track/document and take pics of the receipts that the date stamp will correspond with your maintenance data in the app.
Hope you get back rolling soon.

The service advisor was probably ruling out a recent trip to an Instant Oil Change place. I wouldn't read too much into it until there's a formal diagnosis.
OT - but loving that new avatar!
