Does anybody know where I can get a magnetic oil drain plug that fits the 3.6? Thanks!

Dan, The oil drain plug is a M14-1.5

You can find a magnetic plug in that size most anywhere. Pick your brand... shop on eBAY, amazon, etc.
It's the same size as the JK uses..

Just stumbled back to this thread today...

When I posted to you in this thread, I was thinking the JL had an aluminum oil. (It does not)

Anyway, a month later I attached a 35 lb. pulling force, Rare Earth Magnet to the bottom of the metal oil pan.

I remove the magnet after the motor is off and just before dropping the oil. After oil is dropped, I replace the magnet.

I'm sure the oil plug magnet pales in comparison to the Earth Magnet in gathering up metal.

.

Interesting.
I've got a Filtermag on mine, only because I have a 2.0L

Yes, that will do. I used similar on my older JK's that had a similar metal can oil filter.

Friggin magnet thing the exact one you show, got metal fatigue.. rotted out after a bunch of years, but it did the job.

So, is there a reason that the magnetic plugs I'm looking at have a washer? I like this stainless steel one but they recommend changing the aluminum crush washer with each use. The stock one doesn't have a washer, but it's not magnetic either.
