Hello all,

I have a 2021 JLU Rubicon that came with 7 inch UConnect. I recently a few weeks back replaced all of the stereo and speaker components and used the iDatalink Maestro RR with the JL Wrangler Kit T-Harnesses to keep carplay and steering and vehicle controls.

Most everything is working as it should, however the for the climate controls the physical button to change my HVAC blower location (feet, forward, or defrost) is not working at all. I am able change it if I go into the climate control menu on my Kenwood head unit but the button on dash does not work at all. I have not yet reached out to iDatalink technical support as I wanted to see if anyone here had seen this first and had an easy solve.

My setup:
Head Unit - Kenwood Excelon DMX706S
Interface - iDatalink Maestro RR
Amplifier - Kenwood's Excelon X802-5 connected by RCA cables
Speakers - Alpine SPV-65X-WRA 6.5 components in front and Hertz 6.5 in Soundbar
Subwoofer - JL Audio 10TW3 Subwoofer in a custom box.

Love the system and sound, but I would like the HVAC interface to work correctly.

Are you saying that the built-in blower selector does not work or are you talking about a physical switch on the Kenwood? If it's the former, that's quite odd. When you flashed the Maestro, did you double-check that the trim package you selected is correct and that it actually matches what you have? Although I don't have a Kenwood, I had a similar issue installing the Maestro with my Alpine head unit because my Sport actually has many of the wiring harnesses and secondary components that come with a Sport S and it seemed to cause confusion. So I re-flashed the Maestro for a Sport S and then things worked perfectly (even though I don't actually have what the S comes with, mainly ATC)

Keep it simple - you disturbed the center stack when you did the radio install, the HVAC controller wiring was unplugged or damaged- check there first.
