I didn't care one bit for the on-road performance of the Firestone Destination M/T tires the Wrangler was delivered with. Even with airing them down the Jeep still wandered, the tires were noisy and they sucked in the sand & rock offroad conditions in my area.

Less than a month after purchasing the vehicle I put on some Toyo ATIII tires and I couldn't be happier.

My only issue with lowering the pressure is the TPMS is so damn sensitive. I have all the stuff to program a lower threshold, just haven't gotten around to it. I have having that damn warning every time I start it up if the pressure is 2 pounds below recommended (or whatever it is, it's picky).

A tire shop owner I trust told me years ago that when he has a customer who is sensitive about tire performance on the street he generally suggests Michelin. I have used them myself more than a few times -and on some problematic vehicles. Never had a bad outcome.

I have replaced relatively new tires of other brands because they didn’t meet expectations, but never a Michelin.
I'm generally a Michelin snob. I won't put anything else on a car.

But as far as I know, they don't make an AT type tire

Michelin quit making true AT tires years ago. That’s what their BF Goodrich brand is for.

Jeep looks great love that you chose Snazzberry. I debated it for a long time then ended up with Granite Crystal. Looks so damn good. Thanks for the tip on Toyo. You're the second person who recommended them. That's almost trend!

There are a few other owners here who recommend them. I've used Toyo tires in the past and always got good service from them.

As far as the color, well, the Willys is the second rig I've owned in that color. Here is the first one:

I have a ‘22 JLUR with stock KO2s and I love them! No wandering, at least not crazy, it’s barely noticeable if I even notice it. I run them at 36 cold and they get up to 40-42 in the hot CO sun. I bring them down to 17 when on trails at Moab. When these deem replacement, I’m going to install a 2” lift with 35s and am pretty sure I’ll run KO2s again.

I had Yoko Geolandar G015 on my outback. When I lived in ID, I-85 was grooved and that car was all over the road. Someone riding with me asked, “is it really windy?” I’ve experienced nothing like it on the KO2s, but, I only have 4000 miles on the Jeep.

Jeep Wrangler JL M/T Tires Suck Please Help 91DAB5B1-A7CC-4FBD-ACDC-98E0E2F03EB0

Spring break here in Arizona and I rented a Jeep (Sahara) for the week. Keep in mind it’s a rental with 50,000 miles i it so I expected it to be rough. Got on the freeway and it was all over the place. Checked tire pressure and I see this! Pretty sure the 45-38 difference isn’t helping.
Going to check in the morning and likely set em at 35 all the way around.
I do admit once I popped the freedom panels out all was forgiven!

Love the hydro blue. Thanks.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Hi,

Another thing I didn't see mentioned is the longer 2" lift LCA's as that should help with wandering

All Rubicons come w/ low caster, some lower than others. Get the Mopar lift LCAs and you will be amazed how much better behaved your Jeep will be running at hwy speeds. This is the best $80 you can spend on a Jeep upgrade, and it's a simple DIY. Here's my install thread w/ part #. This is only if you plan to keep your Rubicon at stock height, if you want to lift it in the near future adjustable LCAs would be what you need.

I have them on my Mojave and they do really great on the highway. I was shocked. I thought they would be bad but they are very stable on wet roads. I keep the pressure about 34lbs. I will however put ATs when they wear out. Probably KO2s because of the weight.

I don’t have any experience with the Falcon Wildpeak tires but I recently changed from the factory installed KO2s to a M/T tire. I requested the tire shop put air pressure at 35 psi. That was ok, but I lowered them to 32 and it rides and drives better.

Hi peeps,

I ordered my JLU Rubi with the Falcon Wildpeak M/T tires because (of course) I thought they looked cool and it was a bargain at $195 more.. I've come to regret that decision for a few reasons:
  • Constant Wandering: Due to the steering's constant wandering I have to white-knuckle it driving on the road (specifically. on the highway) at any speed over 60 miles per hour
  • Windy/Wet on Road: If it's the slightest bit windy or wet it's 10x worse
I know that I bought the most compromised on-road version of the Wrangler with the most on-road unfriendly tire. Can anyone recommend a replacement tire that will improve the on-road handling, especially at higher speeds? I'm considering the BFG K02s, but I really have no idea if that will significantly improve things.

I'm starting to become desperate and am considering selling it. I drove over 500 miles over the last two weekends to go exploring Texas hill country. I loved every minute off-road but dreaded every minute on-road. I'd like to be able to relax at least a little bit when driving anywhere over 10-20 miles away. Right now it's white-knuckle city.

Thanks in advance!

I'll trade you a set of K02 A/T's for them... ;)
