I carry one of these and have for ever. I stick it in an old wool sock and throw it in the back cubby in the jeeps and just under the back seat on the ram and no rattles. I have not looked to see if it will fit the stock lug wrench location. i use it ever tire rotation and it does not flex at the 130 ft/lbs.. I got mine at Home Depot.

This has worked well for me:

And you can fit this offering (especially so it is covered and thus will not rattle) in the compartment with the stock scissor jack. The offering is 20.57 in. in length and weights 4.1 lbs..

An offering that is 16" in length and not to heavy is more ideal.

is there a better wrench available that will serve the same purposes and fit in the stock storage location?
I recommend all owners buy a good 1/2" drive breaker bar and deep 22mm socket to keep in the Jeep. Stock torque value is pretty high and you can easily find shops that will overtighten them. On the side of the road is a bad time to find that your stock lug wrench isn't working. I have lots of tools in my Jeep, including a breaker bar and deep socket, and I bought a breaker bar and deep socket for my daughter to carry in her Jeep.

kinda' amusing; i have to wonder what would have made someone reply to this post 3years+ after it was posted to say almost exactly the same thing almost everyone else said, apparently not read the rest of the posts, and still not answer the question,..?

I managed to find the thread after 3 years so other people will too, the last post in the thread is only 8 months old. I posted what I do, a lot of other posters just posted links and those don't last very long. I don't rely on the factory tools, I don't know if I even have them since I bought my Jeep used and used vehicles frequently don't come with all the things that aren't bolted on.
