Loose Gas Cap Message: Check Fuel Cap

Wondering if anyone has had this message on their JLU. Know it was common for JKs, loads of vids and threads about fixes for JKs. Have so far:
1) Replaced gas cap
2) Done smoke test
3) Checked all lines in and out of gas tank and fuel system
4) Changed out leak detection pump

But no joy. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Trying to avoid taking it back to a FCA unless I really have to.

Have a 2020 Willys 4dr with the 2.0L Turbo.

No did not. I had seen other threads reference that. Maybe can't hurt to disconnect the batteries for a bit and see. The only thing is it has not had a software update in awhile as I don't like taking it to the dealer for flashing or in general but may have to now.

I had a21 4xe. They kept changing and arts never could get check engine light to go out. It was a Evap problem never could find the problem

It takes an incredibly long time for that light to leave the dash. If you reset the PCM with a scan tool it'll go away. If an issue is still present it'll come back after a few drive cycles. Suggest doing that before continuing.

Yes similar issue I think, Evap code and check engine lights comes on every 5-7 days with the P0457 and P0456. Thanks for the share.

It takes an incredibly long time for that light to leave the dash. If you reset the PCM with a scan tool it'll go away. If an issue is still present it'll come back after a few drive cycles. Suggest doing that before continuing.

I had the dealership buy it back and I got a 3.6 non4xe. Absolutely no problems. Seems with a Jeep either you have problems or no problems no in between

I need to be clear this is using a scan tool to actually reset the module, wi-tech can do it. Just clearing the codes/disconnecting the battery won't work

Thanks for that. Not familiar with wi-tech except that's what FCA techs would use. When you say reset the module, do you mean the resetting the PCM and doing any updates that need to be done?

Using wi-tech, under guided diagnostics, there's an option to reset ECUs. Click that and it'll list every ECU, select the PCM and it'll reset the module. It essentially resets all short term memory that can't be reset with a normal battery disconnect. With the battery still connected you *may* be able to pull the ECM(PCM) fuse and reset it that way. This doesn't always work, however

This is the only way to clear a gas cap light on the dash without it attempting to clear itself over a long period of time

I’m having this issue currently, 2018 Jlur 2.0 etorque I’m hoping a replacement gas cap will solve my issue but I’ve found two part numbers for caps which is the correct one? 68484447AA or 68339342AB Thanks
