But it's trail rated.No you don't.
I missed that part. I didn't realize it was such a limited edition - carry on, OP.But it's trail rated.
For normal cars there are rules of thumb like don't increase tire diameter by more than 3%, but a regular car can't change gearing, speedometer, etc., so it's quite different. For a Jeep of course you can put 40 inch tires on if you upgrade the components.Do you guys have any idea what he means?
without crossing the line of limit of the max % permitted.
looking to go to the largest size I can with passing the % limit.
Thank you. I, too, was clueless as to what OP meant. For normal cars there are rules of thumb like don't increase tire diameter by more than 3%, but a regular car can't change gearing, speedometer, etc., so it's quite different. I was thinking about doing 42” being that my car is not normal. I was also confused. This is the only 3% I know but I didn't think that's what the OP was referring to.Thank you. I, too, was clueless as to what OP meant.
I’m still confused. You want larger wheels (rims) or tires for your Jeep (car)? It sounds like you want larger tires but you stated “rims”.I was thinking about doing 42” being that my car is not normal. Wise guy!
I don’t know what nothing about tire sizes or rims. So if my stock tire size is 275/55r20 considering the 3% what is the lager sizze I can use?
Awww jeeeeez, he is lostRims….. 20’s……. but he didn’t say Car , perhaps salvation is possible ? OP![]()

The 3% before it starts to tamper with the speedometer and the mileage.275/60/20 is 33”, and will for with no lift.
What is the percent limit, a New York state thing?
Using that rule, the largest you can do is 275/55r20 * 1.03 = 283.25/56.65r20.6So if my stock tire size is 275/55r20 considering the 3% what is the lager sizze I can use?
If that’s all you care about, you can solve that for about $100 and go with any size you want. The 3% before it starts to tamper with the speedometer and the mileage.
Ignoring the fact that you called me a "wise guy" when I was trying to clarify, Jeeps aren't like regular vehicles. You can have a programmer adjust the speedometer and odometer to match a new tire size. You can put larger brakes to handle bigger tires. You can regear the axles to match the torque of larger tires. You can put a lift kit to fit larger wheels. So you can go a lot bigger if you're willing to spend money modifying the Jeep. The 3% before it starts to tamper with the speedometer and the mileage.
Lucky for OP the forum marketplace is full of tires in this size.283.25/56.65r20. 65
