What are you going to do with it? Why do you need the lift? That is where you start when determining mods. Daily driver only? I'd leave it alone. Go to 35s and be satisfied, and save yourself a boatload of money. If you are adding 37s, are you also considering gears? You will hate the Jeep on stock gears with 37s. Making one change generally dominos into multiple changes to get the Jeep "right" again.

I have a 3.6 auto with 4.10's and 37's and it does great. I know people say you need to re-gear so I figured I would need to re-gear but that is not the case. I have a 2.5 lift and have been to Moab several times and run many of the trails on both 35's and 37's and 37's have been awesome with 4.10's. I was more worried about the highway driving than the offroading but after two round trips between Missoula and Moab with the 37's it is a non issue..it is also my daily driver.

the bottom two pictures in the link below are my Rubicon with a 2.5” TeraFlex and 37” tires. The only reason I would do a 3.5” lift is if you think you will ever run 38s or 39s in the future. Otherwise keep the center of gravity as low as possible and minimize the impact of your caster and pinion angles.

do your 37s hit your fenders when offroading? Is there a good flex with 37s ?

No rubbing at full flex. 2.5" TeraFlex lift with 37x12.5x17 BFG KO2 tires, and Teraflex Nomad wheels (4.75" back space, 8.5" wide). "Good" flex for a modified Jeep is between 700 and 800 on the CTI scale. I am in the middle at 750 with this setup.

2.5” will work. For a daily driver, it would be my recommendation on a 2 door. I have the 2.5” Teraflex lift on my 2 door Rubicon and can run 37’s if I wanted to. Would require longer bump stops though. I have no desire to go to 37’s though.

On a 4 door, I would consider a 3.5” lift if playing in the rocks is your desire.

Between 2.5 and 3.5, rub or not has more to do with bumpstops and wheel offset spec. You can have a 2.5" lift without rubbing if the bumstops and wheels are setup properly. And a 3.5" lift rubs without proper setup.

I have 2.5 inch lift running 37's, stock 4.10 gear. I dont see the need to regear right now.

I have also been told, going to 3.5 would need an after market driveshaft sooner than later

A lift kit will make it’s harder to get in and out of your Jeep
You might be taller than Six feet but you’re wife isn’t .
An unexpected consequence .

My wife is 5'1" and shrinking and mid 60's and she has no issue getting in the jeep.

Yes on the wheel offset. A good lift should come with the correct bumpstops to match the new coil spring length. Shortening the bumpstop gap beyond that just to prevent rubbing will shatter your teeth and shake your bolts loose on the bumps.
