Ok Jeepers I am new to Jeep. I want to do a 4 inch lift with teraflex 2 arm kit and 37 tires Toyos. On a new 2024 Sahara 2.0 with 3.45 top gear 8 speed Transmission. I am not concerned about gas mileage. How will this drive and has anyone had problems with driveshaft, transmission axles. Is this setup too much? I will not be rock climbing mainly highway driving and beach rides.
Welcome to the forum…… I’m gonna go against the grain a little bit and say, for your use case, 37s will be ok.. I agree that 4” is too much lift…. 2.5” with the right amount of bump stop you’ll be fine…. You have the 2.0 which has a little more torque and will help with the 37s. Also the 8 speed trans is another plus…. Another reason why I say you’re ok with 37s is you’re probably in a section of FL that’s so flat you can watch your dog run away for 3 days…as long as you’re not doing quarter mile runs for slips, you should be good…... :) ✌

You may have a little Dana 30 front axle. It's really not designed to handle 37" tires. Some people do it. But it's one of those things that you might get away with for a while....then one day, snap.
That's me! I've just been risking it with my small running 37" KO2s. Dana 30 in the front. And you saw last weekend how much I beat the crap out of my Jeep. ?

I imagine one day it'll snap and then I'll get a D44 in the front and upgrade ball joints. I'm hoping it happens later rather than sooner.

The 3.45 gears tell me you're running a front M186. Also possibly the M200 rear. I would only run 37s on those axles if I never went off road. They won't hold up.

It also tells me you don't have Rubicon fenders so 4" of lift is probably the better choice for clearance.

Biggest question is whether you are going to use the Jeep off road or not. If not, you'd be good with the setup. If you are, you want a bunch of upgrades you'll have to buy eventually anyway.

I'd still regear for the bigger tures either way.

Don't bother with the use case. A use case is a different, technical, thing and not applicable at all in this situation. It'd be a lot easier just to post how you expect to use your Jeep; although, you've already kind of told us.

Beach. It isn't easy to turn the tires in sand, so I would say you absolutely need deeper gearing, 4.10/4.11 at minimum. You only need about a two-inch lift. I'd run 35" tires, but that's just me.

Also, most 2.5” lifts give you 3.5-4” of lift on a non Rubicon lol

Do you have a picture of the look you’re after and we can help you work backwards from there?
You will always want 37s no matter what you get next so go with 37s. A 4'' lift you will likely need new wheels or spacers. I really wouldn't dive into this, without the proper budget, if you want it to drive properly on and off road. Wheels, tires, lift with adjustable control arms, gears, shocks and labor you are looking at 10-14k and you still won't have the proper axles.

It all really depends on what your goals are with this Jeep and what you budget is. As an example, I really wanted a long arm kit but it wasn't in my budget. I ended up going with the Teraflex 3.5 RT3 short arm /Falcon 3.3 kit and absolutely love it.

Only you can ultimately decide what works for you. You can usually piece a kit together and save money but I wanted mine turn key out the door. I would seriously look into a 2" kit.

Nice ride. Ok what does a long arm mean. The quote is for Teraflex 2 arm kit 69-6836?

My last setup was a jk on nitto 35s, 410s with 2.5 rock krawler and it was a great setup and would totally recommend.

My current jl project has nitto 37s, 345 with a 3.5 teraflex. I have never seen 8th gear and I fight to keep it in seventh at 70mph. I hate you windy days! Re-gearing to 4.88s is #1 on my list and expensive. A big plus with the 37s is I can leaf blow under the jeep with no effort. Oh and it's badass to drive around on 37s in the city and the trails.

Overall I would have to concur with the majority, anything over 35s gets expensive.

14k send excessive. I got 3.5" gamechanger with drive line, new wheels, 37" Baja Boss ATs installed for about 9-10k back in Dec.

But like said even with my 4.10s in the Rubicon in 6 going to be dropping anther 2-2.5k getting regeared to 4.88s by the end of summer (hopefully sooner).

I'm gonna advise you to take the buy once cry once route. Stick to your dream of having 37's. If you intend to do any serious wheeling, get a 3 1/2 inch lift off the shelf.....no spacer lift. If you're only going to be doing overland trips or mild wheeling, you can go with a 2 1/2 inch lift. You will need longer shocks, and eventually may be re-gearing. I have 37 inch tires with a metalcloak GameChanger 3 1/2 inch lift and couldn't be happier. Drives great on the street and tackle some serious off-road trails. I have the factory 4.56 gears and the 392 which helps.

Probably not excessive in my case since that's what I just spent. It also included front and back Adam's driveshafts, 8 adjustable control arms and my Tazer. Probably also something I can't remember right now.
