Hello, I had a local shop install a Clayton Offroad 2.5” RideRight+ lift kit on my 2022 Wrangler High Tide (Xtreme Recon package).
Lift is great and i ended up getting around 3” above the XR height (which is supposedly a 1.5” lift)
Afterwards though I started getting a shimmy in the steering wheel which ended up getting death wobble about 5-6 times coming down the freeway on a colder 40 degree day morning.
I took it into the shop and they moved a bunch of stuff around but I’m pretty positive the front upper control arms were on the wrong sides, when they were putting them back on after testing I mentioned that they’re supposed to angle down and In not down and out and they said oh yeah and flipped them. Could this cause death wobble?
I also noticed they didn’t use a torque wrench for anything which seems to be a common theme with paid mechanics nowadays, how big of a deal do you think this is? Do I need to crack all the bolts loose and torque them to spec? Or is it as long as they aren’t too loose it’s probably fine?
Thanks!
