I am looking for a cost of a 2" Mopar lift at the dealership. Parts provided by owner.
Trying to see how close my dealer is to the average.

Thanks

dealership probably will charge $1000 give or take, maybe more because you are supplying the parts. On a new jeep a simple mopar or AEV lift install I would do it for you for $500 on a new jeep that was not all rusty.....

You already over paid for the lift, why not over pay for the install too? Not that the lift is bad, but it's incomplete for the cost of it. And I'm going to guess the dealer wants $1500 for the install?

Dealership in AZ wanted $1400 for install. I opted to do it myself. If installed correctly no other parts are needed.

Looking at what is involved in that kit I initially guessed 3 hours max. Then found some references on line where they estimated 3-4 hours install time. I'm not a professional mechanic but have a decent amount of experience working on vehicles, have power tools, but no hoist. Installed Rubicon springs and shocks on a JL in about hour. That 2" Mopar kit has some additional work including front lower control arms, swaybar links, and I believe bumpstop spacers. When I did the install that included the swaybar links half unbolted anyway (to allow the axle to droop more). So the kit would involve an additional 4 bolts for the swaybar links, the front lower controls, and the bumpstop spacers. Assuming nothing was rusty and all the bolts came out easily, I can't imagine those items taking more than another hour or so.

Agree. If you have the tools and jacks can do it yourself. I’m not the quickest and was able to do it in about 8 hours. I’m sure others have done it faster.

That's sort of true. The kit does nothing to address the track bars and/or centering the axles under the Jeep. The rear is cheap enough to just add a raised track bar bracket at the axle. ~$100 and the axle is centered and the roll center is improved, all positives. The front isn't as easy/cheap because you can't just raise the track bar mount or the steering will be screwed. You'll need to add an adjustable track bar so there's another ~$200. That's why I say that kit is incomplete for its cost.

Yep my spacer lift took probably about 10 hours because a) I'd never done it before and b) retorquing the bolts took me probably 3 hours because I had to use to stupid jack to retorque the control arms bolts.

With proper ugga dugga tools could easily be a 2-3 hour job.

I’m not going to say it’s easy for someone not mechanically inclined to install a lift, nor safe due to possibly using a spring compressor and multiple jacks. I did mine because I can’t earn $1500 in a weekend, and I’m not a mechanic. I do change my own hoses, belts, pumps, alternators.. I took it to a 4x4 shop a week after and asked they check my torques and such which cost $300.
