My Willys has a front-to-rear height difference of about 3 inches. With the addition of a steel bumper and winch, I am considering installing a 2.5-inch lift spring for the front.

Given that most lift and spring manufacturers factor in the factory rake, this should result in an actual lift of about 3.5 to 4.5 inches. This should bring the front close to level with the rear after the springs settle.

Will the stock shocks and control arms be compatible with this setup?
Or is my whole train of thought here completely off?

3 inches of rake is significant. Are you in the front bump stops or is there some up travel?

I think I only had 3 inches of travel when stock.

Bumps stops look to have about 2 inches of travel

Also for this measurement do not use the fender flairs. they are different heights between the front and rear. Take a measurement right behind the front flair and just in front of the rear flair on the body. that will give an accurate reading at each corner. My 392 had a decent rake, and the 1" diesel puck from teraflex got it almost perfect. I ended up with 1.5 up front and .5" lift in the rear. using pucks.

Check out the 2.5" front coils from Clayton (on a diesel Clayton states they are a 1.5" spring). They helped me when my front end sagged from a bumper and winch. I was surprised on how much sag I got, as my front bumper is relatively light compared to what was taken off (stock plastic bumper, tow hooks and cutting the crash bar out) and a fairly light winch (Warn M8000 with synthetic line).

It's not that they are that much taller, just a higher spring rate to carry the load that is needed.

The ome springs should be perfect for what you're looking to do. The stock shocks aren't great in my opinion and have limited travel so I'd likely deal them out while I had the front apart. Bilstein 5100s for 1-3" of lift will dampen better and add a few inches of downtravel.
