I don't require a dead pedal, didn't install one, and was glad I didn't have to remove what Toledo didn't already fit to the vehicle.

Yes, longer inseam here. Every vehicle I've owned or driven with a dead pedal had it positioned too far forward (toward the driver), which can be distracting during longer drives. Let those who want or need one fund the purchase and installation costs themselves, just as other owners do when attending to their own ergonomic requirements. ?
What I'd like to see happen is a set of driver and passenger side extended seat rails so I can get further back. However, my wife is short, though very seldom drives the Wrangler, she needs to be able to push the forward.... Me I am all the way back and still need room.

Do you find they are beneficial?

Which brand and why?

I remember reading one brand was a pain to install. Suggestions?
I would always add one. Great addition. If you have a JL 4xe be forewarned that the place you bolt the pedal is not the same as on the JL.

I have a JLR 3.6 eTorque. I am leaning towards the pedal from Quadratec but I don't like the idea of them nickle and dimming for the $10 for rubber pad. Their dead pedal is already more expensive then most.

I have one on my JLU 3.6, purchased from Amazon, installed and reviewed here

This review above has pictures of the mounted pedal in my car.
As you can see, mine is mounted on the side of the footwell and it is hanging the air (related to the mat, so no problem removing mat). Also, it has 3 side holes to adjust the position/height related to the distance from the driver and yes, one position is where you can align it with the brake pedal level evenly.
Some people complain about this particular model, about the mounting difficulties, which I personally did and did not find it difficult at all.
The pedal must be adjusted for a height and assembled before installing it in the car. Thick, powder coated metal, I am 5'7" and finding it as one of my best mods/additions...

I bought this one as well:

KMFCDAE Dead Pedal Left Side Foot Rest Kick Panel Fit for 2018-2020 Jeep Wrangler JL JLU & Gladiator JT 2020 (Adjustable, Wrinkled Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089Q6V6S...t_i_3PBYSKDB28SASNAZ5AX5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It's def a MORE knockoff and now says not available. A bit of a pain but not the worst thing I've installed.

I had the other style that mounts to the one bolt on the firewall and hated it. No matter how much I tightened it up, it was always moving when my foot was on it. This one is solid.

Just in case you end up ordering the one from Quadratec, I placed an order for one the first week of October and I am still waiting for it. So hope you're not in a hurry.
Me too.
I didn't realize vehicles were built without a dead pedal. I noticed immediately when I picked up my JLUW. Hope Quadratec can get these built soon.

Until I joined this forum I had never heard of a dead pedal or even noticed that there was one in the vehicle I had before I got my Jeep lol. I've always just let my foot sit flat on the floor mat and rest my leg against the door. I tried using the dead pedal in my dad's truck a couple months ago and it felt so uncomfortable and weird ?

I might be one of the few but I prefer the dead pedal not being there.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
At first, I did not think I needed it but then I saw this good deal from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T1N9VWZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b
It feels sturdy and it was generally easy to install. I can say that it has made the ride feel better. Granted, I haven't stomped on it like the one a few posts up but I haven't babied it either. It's a thumbs up from me! ?

Got the same one, works great, easy install, nice price, and plenty sturdy. It also has a variety of mounting lengths/angles so you should be able to adjust it just where you want it.

That is the same type I mentioned in my reply few posts above. I agree, it is a knockoff, but solid and sturdy, mounts on the side of the foot well with 2 bolts and with the metal plate behind, height adjustable. There are times when knockoffs are not to be used, when safety or reliability is needed, but when it is comes to many other parts, as long as they are solidly built and cheaper, I do not mind (other item comes to mind on the Amazon is the tailgate door foldable shelf $80 vs. $300+).
I really like my pedal, for long drives I use either the pedal to rest my foot on, or I jam my foot on the driver's door edge for more "bent knee" feeling...
