LEDs and Towing Group

Trying to get a feel for what are the "hot, must have" options.

LED lighting is not a huge want for us, since it seems to be mostly accent lighting (no real improvement in headlamps). I'd assume it could be added later?

Same with the Towing Group. We don't plan on towing anything, nor do we plan on loading on a lot of accessory lights, so unsure if *not* having the Towing Group might hurt a Rubicon resale down the road?

Last: Trail Rail, can it be added on later?

LED all the way. It gives you LED headlights instead of those dim old halogens.

I would get the LEDs if I were you. From what I read (and saw on a JK Wrangler), the standard halogen lamps are particularly dim.

To me Tow and LED are worth it. Towing also gives you a higher rated alternator and battery in addition to a hitch (with wiring) and the hitch can be used without the wring for many applications (bike rack, added storage...), one never knows.
LED lights are WAY better for night driving than the stock halogens. I replaced the halogens on my JK last year and am amazed at the difference, I should have made that switch years ago, definitively worth it

Yes get the LED lights. I would have gotten the LED’s for sure if they were available for the Sport S. Plus the LED tail lights look much better than the standard ones IMO. The tow package is handy. Not only do you get the AUX switches but a more powerful alternator and battery.

all packages are worth it IMO,

LED is a MUST have if you decide to upgrade later, headlights alone are same price as the whole LED group.
If you plan on getting Alpine, go for the infotainment you get a lot more for few extra bills.
Get cold weather if you're even considering remote start as stand alone option.

Skip headliner, trail rail you can add that later.

So we're now looking at a pretty loaded up Rubicon, all packages except for steel bumpers, engine block heater, smokers.

Pumpkin with black leather high back seats (she knows how hot it will be topless in the summer).

We're doing a base model soft top and adding the powered aftermarket myTop.

We're also doing a manual trans, cause that's what the wife wants (no remote start). To each their own on that, I guess? There are still manual trans Jeep drivers out there, right, when it comes time to sell?

Any last minute advice?

The LED rear tail lights came on the safety package on my Sport S. Initially I wasn't that worried about the LED brake lights but now that I have them they are way brighter and definitely look way better.

I'm going to eventually swap in LED headlights.

Hah, her OG Wrangler was a 1989 model, as basic as they came, so she was leaning towards a 2 door, but now with the kid and dog, I guess we got old and went with 4... at least it’s not a minivan.

The LEDs are one of my favorite things on my Jeep. They're not accent lights at all. I just did a 3 hour road trip at 1am and I was, by far, the brightest headlights on the road.

Not to mention they look badass when the lights are off and it's the halos + fenders. Hope someone figures out some nice fenders that can keep some LEDs in them.

I was subjected to the LED's on my way home tonight. I think I will like it more on the other side of the steering wheel.

For me, this jeep is either dying before me or after..ha it's mine forever unless I get rich somehow and upgrade. So led and tow are both needed. led lamps are so much better, both seeing and aesthetic. I live in the country to better lamps are a big help. And tow allows for a cargo rack or the odd time a trailer might be needed. all options are cheaper when you order too. Get both!
