I’m approaching the end of a lease and 3/36 basic warranty. Any suggestions for what to have done or mechanically checked by the dealer beforehand since I’m probably buying it? I’m also considering the Mopar Max care service plan, so is it worth it (only drive about 8k miles a year)?

At 24 K miles +/- you shouldn’t have much to worry, I’ll post the manual screen shots, as far as the extended warranty you can ship around, plenty of forum sponsor will offer you great quotes, essentially it’s just a peace of mind policy to have cause these new vehicles aren’t built like they used to!

Reach out to this person to get a quote for extended warranty, highly recommended

I read that to use the Mopar Max care warranty it needs to be serviced by the same dealer that sold the warranty. Is this true? I believe in order to use the warranty elsewhere, a "request" must be made.

NO! You can purchase the mopar warranty from any dealers and USE it at any jeep dealer location! No request is needed, once you purchase the warranty within a certain amount of time I believe a few days you’ll see it show up in the app linked to your vin# so all dealers can also see that

Just remember the warranty covers “stock” systems. If you are, and plan to remain, basically in stock configuration it’s not a bad idea. If you are heavily into modifications, not so much.

I run a “stock” Jeep size tire (albeit larger than came on mine), have aftermarket bumpers, some skids, winch, and a wireless break away switch for my RVI brake. Remainder is OEM. I’m confident my extended warranty will cover any factory Jeep system that may prove problematic.

This isn’t exactly true. To clear up any confusion, the dealer performing the repairs under the extended warranty must obtain prior authorization from the company in order to service the vehicle. This is for warranty repairs, not maintenance.

App, do you mean Mopar.com? That’s where I can see all of my services ever done and recalls on my jeep. Is there also an app for that?

I’m mostly considering the mopar max care for electronic coverage.

that’s not what was asked

“ I believe in order to use the warranty elsewhere, a "request" must be made.”

Clearly all warranty work needs an approval from the company that they will cover the cost to the dealer

I make these requests regularly, the customer needs to do nothing but it’s important to understand that denial of service regardless of the issue can happen and it be referred to the selling dealer.

An example would be you buy the warranty from a local dealer then move out of state. Assuming the warranty can be used at another dealer where the owner is now located.

Absolutely not a problem. The problems come when the different dealerships are relatively close.
