It is simply a fact that threaded members need to be preloaded. The threads on your joint, our joint or any other joint are taking axial load. The mating threads wether it be an adjuster sleeve or threads in an arm need to be preloaded for proper structure. We chose jam nuts because the structure of the assembly is greater than that of a pinch bolt setup. If you feel your setup is sufficient that is great, but we go for the ultimate in structure. Considering the loads and what is at stake for control arms and track bars, we feel the ultimate in structure is best suited.
The only reason I am responding again is because people trust what manufacturer's say on this forum, and someone needs to speak up when they are being fed a load of ****.

I respect Rock Krawler and I respect the products they make, but this marketing nonsense has nothing to do with sound engineering practices. This industry is big enough for all of us, you don't need to go around trying to trash everyone else's products to prop yours up.

Chris, I'm sorry you feel that way. None of that is marketing or buzz words. Those are simply engineering facts, a jam nut is stronger than a pinch bolt due, largely to preload on the threads. I am not personally attacking you or your brand, just want to make sure people understand what they are buying and why things are designed the way they are. We follow SAE guidelines on everything, the Society of Automotive Engineers is the subject matter experts in engineering for automotive applications. Nobody is feeding any loads of anything but truth. If you guys do things differently, that's how you do it. Chris, and of course Dave, I have the utmost respect for you guys as well.

Does anyone know how many degrees of caster the Mopar fixed arms add?

I combined the longer arms and geometry brackets. Currently at 6.7° and 6.8° of caster. A bit high. Rides nice though.

I'm trying to decide if I want to eliminate arms/brackets or leave it be.

Not sure. I added rancho brackets only wuth a 2.5" lift and am at 7.3° on the lowest adjustment setting!! Drives good but dont like the brackets hanging down and the arms arent level. Switching to teraflex non adjustable arms. Hoping they give enough caster. Don't want to screw with adjusting or the issues securing the adjustment mentioned above. I took a chance, hopefully it was correct...
