I've installed a set of Rancho geometry correction brackets on my JLUR with Mopar 2" lift, with the goal of increasing caster slightly and also the other benefits (ride/handling) that come with them.

Can someone with these brackets tell me if going to the upper hole will reduce caster, or is it the lower hole that would accomplish that? I'm wanting to reduce caster a little bit and get the pinion angle to positive or at least zero. It is just a degree or two negative right now and that makes me think the caster is too high.

Once I make the adjustments I will be taking it to a very good alignment shop to get an actual measurement on the caster and make sure it is good to go.

If nobody knows, it is ok. It isn't too hard to adjust, so I can try both positions and see what it does.

I got it! The upper hole rotated the axle the way I needed it to go! So the pinion angle to the ground looks like it is now 0 degrees or maybe a little to the positive. It was slightly negative before. So I'm making an educated guess that I've not moved the caster angle to where it should be.

I'm still going to take it to a professional shop to double-check it but I'm confident I nailed it. Now for a test drive.

When you mount the brackets on the frame, looking at the 3 holes, the top hole is for a 2” lift, middle hole is for 3”, and bottom hole is for 4” lift. These are all based upon a rubicon.

Just to add, I have the Rancho 2” sport lift using their Geo brackets. They do what they claim to, I am very happy with them. No real rocks to crawl in Michigan, so no worries of rocks smashing them. I honestly think it’s way overblown anyways about them getting hit constantly off roading.

Yes but I don't think they factored the longer Mopar lift control arms. I checked today and the pinion angle is still very slightly downward. I'm still going to have a shop check the actual caster.

I agree. They're beefy anyway.

Correct. Those figures are based upon stock length control arms.

You reach out on Facbeook Messenger too?
May need the "lower" hole ( i mean below the 2" hole don't want to confuse this thread1) and yes get that aligned too :)

Yep!

I've got it scheduled for Thursday morning to check the caster angle.

So first I went with the center hole, and now the upper. I had thought that the upper hole would decrease caster slightly and bring the pinion angle back up to zero or better. But the pinion angle is still a couple degrees negative (pointing toward the ground.)

So will the bottom hole help to decrease castor and get the pinion angle back to zero (level) or positive?

I'm tempted to find some regular length Rubi lower control arms. I wish now I hadn't sold mine, LOL!

I do think it is really close right now, but I just need it to go back the other way a little. I really thought the top hole nailed it until I checked the pinion angle.

Which hole in the bracket ended up working best for you?

For me, I worry more about caster than pinion angle. Front DS doesn’t even rotate unless you are in 4WD and when Im in 4WD Im usually traveling at lower speeds.

None of them. The caster angle was too (high or low, I can't remember) and it just wouldn't get within the acceptable range with the Mopar LCA's. I wound up buying a set of stock Rubicon lower control arms and was going to install them. I got tired of bolting, unbolting, and getting no results, so I never actually installed the standard Rubi LCA's. I'm sure that if I had done so, it would have been perfet. So instead, I bought a Fox ATS adjustable steering dampener and dialed it in just right. That cured everything. I then took it in to a really good alignment shop and they checked the caster (with Mopar lift LCA's) and it was right at about 5.7, I believe, which is within the proper specified range. So now caster is good enough and the Fox ATS has made the steering perfect. No shimmy or anything and it tracks straight and true with no pull to the right. A happy ending.

So I've still got the Rancho brackets. I'm going to lift my wife's JLUR with a Dynatrac 2 inch lift, which does not come with longer LCA's like the Mopar, and if I get any shimmy or wiggle, I'll install them on hers.
