Seems like all of the major manufacturers are having issues these days for whatever reason. What I find interesting about the latest 4xe recall is there is no real fix as of yet. Just suck it up and replace the battery already and be done. "Don't plug it in". Then WTF is the purpose of this rig? Stellantis is a joke. I plug mine in everyday outside. If I don't I'll be filling the tank every 3 days vs 5 or 6 days. Let the pos burn. 🔥:giggle:
I believe they are dependent on Samsung for the software update that will allow the impacted batteries to be detected. It's not like they have everything ready to go and are just delaying for no reason. The longer it's delayed, the more risk there is for them, it's in their best interest to get this completed as soon as possible.

Grizzl-e has a 24' charging cable. My charger is outside anyway and I don't have a garage. Just charging as usual at full extension of the 24' cable.

All you folks that are affected should pitch a fit and get a loaner. My 4XE is grounded at the dealership until the "fix" is applied. I had to jump through some hoops but got a loaner at no cost to me. Might be driving this loaner for two months for all I know.....
Loaners are at the discretion of the servicing dealer. Some have loaners available, some don’t.

Some dealers also have relationships with nearby rental companies. Back before my 4xe got lemoned, I would frequently get a reimbursed rental from Enterprise. The catch is, the rental must be an FCA vehicle. Given how many other people were also having issues, the local Enterprise had a waitlist for these.

Yes totally agree. I pitched a fit up the food chain at Stellantis and they called the dealership and said they would cover the dealers cost with the loaner.....

So I had the last two recalls done, and didn't charge the battery for four months waiting for the software update to be done. I got my recall today. What is this one going to do that the last one didn't?

Interesting info here Speculation about limited clearance of the battery shell and an internal busbar. Don't stand on the thing

Close to my own speculation that the degraded batteries will swell up causing the back seat passengers to bump heads on the roof. Curious about the flag though.

Just found out my 12/3/22 Build 4xe is under recall. Says repair parts are not available.

What are owners doing? Stop Charging? Leave outside? Run down charge and still park inside?

How big is risk? "A routine data review revealed 13 reported fires, and Jeep estimates that 5% of affected vehicles may have the defect."

13 of 100,000+ seems like a small risk.
Has anyone on this forum actually had a battery catch fire? For peace of mind wouldn’t it be great if we could see some stats on what models caught fire, where and when the Jeeps were manufactured, where they were when they caught fire. What were the environmental conditions like at the time, What chargers were used 115 V or 220 V. Did these fires occur during charge or after. How many caught fire before and after the software update. Were any of these burnt jeeps used off road and in water? Did any of them have anyone kneel or stand on the battery while the seats were folded up for cleaning. I read a report somewhere mentioning there was a structural defect on the battery housing As well. How many burnt units were experiencing warning lights and or malfunctions if so, what were they? Were any of these modified at some point after initial purchase.

Yes, someone made a thread last week or so.

13 vehicle fires

Stellantis and Jeep claim the vehicles pose a potential fire risk, with a "regular" internal company review revealing at least 13 vehicle fires related to the recall so far, and that as many as 5 percent (nearly 10,000 vehicles) of produced 4xe plug-in hybrid SUVs could be impacted by the defect or fire cause, which ...Oct 1, 2024

I looked through all the threads from the past month, and searched for "fire" and "burn" in threads across this whole site. I didn't find any first-hand reports. Doesn't mean there aren't any, but if there are I didn't find them.

<https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/4xe-owner-on-reddit-burns-up-after-recall.137563/> is closest, and within the last month, but that's a video the poster found on Reddit.
That's indeed the one I'm recalling. Forgive me I'm getting old. Last year was just last month for me
