For the most part, everything in that size is a load range E tire. There are a few SL tires out there, but they are few and far between.

Just put on 5 285/70/17's on my Willys. C range and white letters. I love mine. Been using them for years. I find that "slick in the rain" means you are driving too fast for conditions.

G.
From my extensive experience with KO2s, it's mostly when trying to accelerate from a stop. I never found them "slick" at speed. Trying to pull out onto a busy road in the rain was a pucker-up type experience.

Does the 245 75 R17 come in a C? The mechanic where I live is telling me that size is only available in E?
Just go to a very slightly larger tire, 255/75R17 and you will find a lot of C rated tires. They will fit you Jeep with no modifications necessary.

I've heard that K03s are coming out soon. I'd look into those if you're getting new tires anytime soon.

KO3s are only available in a few very limited sizes right now. It'll prob be a year or more until there is a wide selection of sizes. They aren't even on the BFG website at this time. So if you need tires, keep that in mind.

Ahh, good to know. My buddy was telling me about them so I wasn't sure of if/when they will be available.

OK, appointment made for installation on Saturday. 5 tires @ $308, then all the fees they tack on for disposal, valve stems, balancing, etc. Oof. Going to cost as much as my clutch (ACT) replacement did!

Well, I got 5+ years and nearly 60,000 miles out of the first set... I shouldn't belly ache.

Anyway, what do you guys say about alignment? I read this thread which ended with no consensus. I'm leaning toward "don't do it, waste of money." My current KO2s have worn very evenly with 5,000 5-tire rotations.

Rumor has it, a full product launch is slated for mid 2024 for the KO 3

Good to know!!! Thanks so much!!
You can also go with a 265/70R17 in load range C it'll be a little wider, but the same height as your 245/75/17s

I hate to add to the difficult decision when it comes to tires but you might want to consider going to the 35” version. I did and glad I did it. It was one of the most suggested upgrades to the “ can a stock Rubicon do the Rubicon”. No clearance issues and they fit on the stock rims and spare carrier.
