The JL is known for having a lot of metal in the diff fluid, moreso before first fluid change.
Did you have filings or actual chunks of steel?
What did they actually diagnose? Did they fix your issue?

Not sure how metal in the diff would cause a noise on left turns only.

I’ve had the dealership and a mechanic in town who modifies jeeps tell me metal chunks of steel and my axel needed to be replaced. I finally had it towed to the guy who does nothing but work on jeeps, my regular mechanic, and he said I just need to replace the gears and bearings which he has mechanics who specialize in just that, so that is the route I’m going. Its still in the shop and I won’t see it until the middle of February. ?

Hello,

I starting having a knocking noise driving at slow speed and turning my wheel on left corners. And it is not a quiet knock and my my front end shake a little and my staring feels a little off and loose. I brought it to the dealer which charged me $140 to tell me everything was tight and they didn’t hear anything during their test drive of the 4 days they had it. I picked it up last night and sure enough as soon as I drove out of the dealership Lot I heard it immediately. I thought it was my tie rod or track bar but they told me there was nothing broken or loose. Has anyone else experienced this on a 2018 JLU? I have an aftermarket 4”lift kit. I am going to test drive it with a mechanic who is familiar with jeeps later today because I am furious and feel like the dealership is slacking in the mechanics department. Any suggestions will be helpful.
I have a 2021 Willys that 'clicks' at low speeds over bumps I dunno if that's considered knocking but Ive only done 10k miles in since August. Wondering if anyone else had that issue

Ball joints need to be torqued to spec and new pins installed, 10 min job. They came from the factory not torqued properly on most Jeeps. Crown nuts

Had dealer problems. The JL steering issue.
Had a dash cam in.

Dealer drove 6 minutes on the smoothest roads in the city. Top speed was 40 km/hr. They couldn't detect the problem.

Can you ride with the tech?
