Knocking Sound In Steering Column?

Jeepers,

I’m experiencing a knocking sound in the steering column when hitting bumps in the road. I’ve researched the forums and couldn’t find any similar occurrences. Just curious if anyone has experienced this same knocking sound (like something is loose) or has any ideas? It’s not the steering wheel adjustment - tried that. I plan to take it to dealer soon but I’ve found it’s helpful to reference known / similar issues when explaining to service department.

Update:

In case someone stumbles upon this thread in the future, the remedy offered in the below post fixed the issue (it wasn’t the steering column):
