I dried it out by open and dry, also tried the rice bag method, no use, I guess it is totally fried.

anyone programed this key?

I have no experience with that seller/brand. I would be skeptical. The Mopar FOB is one-time programmable by the factory.

But why bother with it? A Mopar online dealer sells them for about $35-40 more, completely ready to go. I bought two extra from a Mopar online dealer after doing exactly what you did. It took about 6 weeks to get them. I think it was Moparpartsgiant.com

As for the water damaged one, keep it, as it can still open and start your Jeep. The hard key will open the door and the RFID chip will start it.

The push technique described by @roaniecowpony does work. When my battery died I did that for a day. Just push the start button with your fob.

Hi @roaniecowpony . Happy New Year.

Say, if you get a moment would you mind seeing if you could find what you refer to above?

FWIW, I had no luck here (please note that I removed my VIN from the URL link below to my 2018 JLU Sahara for privacy) : https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/page_product/pl?vin=&make=Jeep&model=Wrangler&year=2018&submodel=All-new Model &extra1=&extra2=&filter=()&subCategoryUrl=electrical/modules_receiver_hub_transmitters_and_key_fobs&diagram=&partNumbers=

And is what you describe something that first needs to be configured by my local dealer?

At the price you quote I'd love to have 2 or 3 extra fobs just lying around!

Thanks.
I ended up talking by phone to the online dealer, providing my VIN, mileage and some other information.

When the key FOBs arrived, they included one hard key per FOB, a battery, and all the programming was complete. They were ready to go right out of the box. No trip to the dealer was required.
