Well. That's not all completely true.. I tapped into the rear soundbar wires behind the pass. seat. I'm wired red from the battery to the amp, grounded to the scuffed up floor board, and remote is wired.

I powered everything up and the amp never even came on.. The powered sub in the back was working.

I pulled the 40amp fuse & it was good. I put it back in and the soundbar speakers came on, but very, very quiet.. I started turning up the gain & it died again.

Once again, I pulled the fuse and put it back in. Speakers again came on very quiet.

Where did I go wrong? I'm new to all this audio stuff. The speaker wires were all soldered together.

I have been reading A LOT about adding an amp to my Jeep (I very much want to upgrade the rear subwoofer). And I have read that it may be that the head unit no longer detects a "load" on the speakers. There is a proper way to add an amp by bypassing the factory one. which doesnt affect the load at all. I myself am still learning.

Jump the battery to the remote to make sure the amp turns on. Not sure on the JL, but some turn in signals from radios can be 5V and not trigger.

Picture of the input side?
