Key for manual door locks

Hi all
I have a 2024 JL with manual door locks. I would like to know the technical name of the of the kind of key and if it is available to be reproduced by a locksmith. I would like to get one made and put it in a Hide-a-key in case of a locked in the Jeep mistake i ALLMOST made last week.

Not all locksmiths can cut, so call around and ask..

This key blank has confirmed compatibility. It's what I carry as an analog spare for my Sport. Note that it's not the same blade, so to speak, that is currently bundled in the key fob.

A locksmith capable of router cut keys can use your existing key as a template when cutting the new one. Expect to pay a few dollars more for this service (I paid $27), vs. having a traditional key cut.

When I built my gas cap lock, I documented the pin numbers and where used thinking I would skip the trial and error method of building if ever necessary again. I bet with that information alone, a key could be cut to spec. I realize the key transponder is another moving part.

Hi All: I got two blanks but no one in my town can do it. Only two locksmiths in my town one says no can do and the other one is a mobile one, with no storefront, and charges $50.00 just to come out too see if he can and then see what he will charge . Hell no!

I live 45 miles west of Las Vegas and found one who charges $75.00 per key, but he works with Tipple A and told me to go there and fill out the form for reimbursement and i will get
$100.00 back, so i will only be out $50. So $25.00 per key. I made some holders for the keys and they work well are securely hidden on the Jeep.

@jimf5 - Did you check with a dealer? I had one of my local dealers cut a key for me for the same purpose. The one closest to me didn’t have the tools so had to drive ~30 minutes to another dealer. They charged me $5 per cut!
I used a @Threedom key holder and put it in a magnetic box under the Jeep.
