@The Fixer The Daylighters use long giant 1/2" bolts, with two huge, rubber-inlaid, basically 2" fender washers to hold them secure. Smaller mounts probably don't have that large of a hole, nor clearance for the washers.

I also loved the classic smiley logo growing up, so I just made my own brackets.

With a name like yours, I'd bet you can too. I think you could also open the housing and switch to a smaller, shorter bolt, but don't tell KC...
Thanks for the suggestions, and the pics you shared from your post - my brain is already running!

Remember to post the finished product!

The big fender washer "clamps" actually slide right off. You can substitute a smaller one on the bottom, or even both for clearance. I think changing the giant bolt might require removing and replacing six blind rivets, but don't really remember, since I changed my design so many times. They are very take-apart and modification friendly. (The Daxlighters at least)

I bought the LED version to complement my stock halogens, but discovered afterward that you can buy the halogen set, and then separate LED replacement inserts for almost the same price. If you like playing with extra parts, that's the way to go.

Good luck!
