Just Ordered Amp Power Steps

Hi folks, I just ordered the Amp Power Steps XL. I also ordered the override switch. Is there anything else I should need? Thanks in advance.

I kind of wish i had gone this route. The RSE steps definitely are more geared towards off-road, but they’ve acted up a few times and failed to retract all the way or deploy all the way. My 5 year old amps on my ram 2500 have been incredibly reliable. Just remember to occasionally spray the pivot points with lube and they’ll treat you well. Post pics after the install please

Thanks for the feedback Relbus, I went with the Amp because of the width of the step. A couple of brands are nice but very narrow. Mom’s 83 now and it’s getting tough for her to get in. I believe these are 6” wide. I promise to post pics. Have a great day.

Another question: My Amp XL steps are on the way. Should I order an OBD port splitter?

I wouldn't unless you have other items you are plugging into OBD. My Amps are hardwired on my Ram. Unless you have another item your plugging into the OBD I don't see a reason to do so. Even if you do intend to plug another item in, it may not work as intended once you have the splitter.

For example, I went hard wired for this very reason. My EFI Live CSP switch is plugged into the OBD, and some folks found the ability to switch on the fly tunes was not working properly with the splitter, steps, and csp switch all plugged in.

Ok as promised, here’s some pics of the new Amp steps. One low so you can see with a stock Jeep they’re right about center from the door jam to driveway. The one with the foot on kinda gives an idea of how much stepping space there is.
P.S. I tried to do a video but it didn’t go through. Anyone know why?

Nope, perfect Jimmy. I'm sure to spray the hinges with a spray lube after every wash. No problems my friend.

I had them on my JK. Total junk in the winter.
