Jesus that sounds like a mess, hope they get it sorted out for you soon man. Out of curiosity what dealer did you buy from? Looks like we’re pretty close in NH. I hit a couple dealers who wouldn’t go below MSRP and acted like they could do no wrong but ended up finding my guy in manchester who was willing to deal at least more then some of the other big guys in the area.

I am curious as well, which dealership in our area has changed hands. I'm guessing, based on your description of the manner in which they conduct business, that it's the one in Portsmouth?

Nope. I am totally focused on the dealers themselves. Three jeep dealers with bad attitudes, and one chevrolet dealer with a "what can we do for you" attitude.
I have paid all monies needed, filled out paperwork, switched insurance, and even started ordering parts after I had been told I would have the jeep the next day. Now we are a week into this, and I still have no jeep, and at this point I will have to make my first payment in three weeks. I was expressing my experiences with dealers in my area.
I think you personally made several bad decisions on this deal, first anyone who would sign paperwork on a vehicle that is not setting there and ready to go is questionable to start with. Looks like you were upside down in your trade in and you surrendered your vehicle to them, plus you have to pay to lease the new vehicle out of your pocket. All signs that you are going into a deal upside down at the start. This can happen when the buyer wants a vehicle at any cost and will except what the dealer is telling them what they need to do, in other words you are making bad decisions one after another. My personally feeling here is once you get upside down in a vehicle you never recover, unless you find funds to pay it off, or down to a reasonable payoff on it, which can only happen over time.

None of that. I sold my truck back to the dealer with equity. So I had no trade. The jeep i ordered is on the lot ready for me to pick up. The night i signed all the paperwork, I was told everything would be all set for the next day to pick up. This is on them. Now a week later i am still with no jeep in my driveway.

I don't understand why/how you have signed paperwork showing that you are the owner of that vehicle but don't have possession of the vehicle. If you have signed paperwork showing that you bought the Jeep, then you own that Jeep and should be taking legal action to recover your property.

I believe you can actually call the local Sheriff's Deputy or a Constable to meet you at the dealership and assist you with recovering your property, which the dealership is currently illegally holding.

With all that sounding good, it sounds like the dealer does not have the MOS on hand to process the paper work, they may not have the funds to payoff your trade in to get the title, or they can't get financing for you as of yet. They owe you an explanation and not just saying tomorrow, tomorrow. I worked in management for a large DFW auto dealer for some 35 years, something is not right here and they may not be telling you everything. Go the management and demand to know what is going on and if that doesn't work call the local TV Station as many stations offer customer assistance on problems like this. Auto dealer do not want to be brought to the public attention on thing like this. Do they have you riding in one of there vehicles, or not, if they do I would think they are working on whatever the problem is.

Don't expect any assistance from the Sheriff's Dept on a civil matter until it goes through the court system. Take a three or four kids down to the dealership with ice creams cones an let them play in the cars on the showroom floor and let the ice cream drip all over the new car interiors, you will probably get help with your deal much faster.

I wondered the same thing. But buying is out of the question as the payment would be $100 more per month.

If you drive more than the mileage specified in the lease, you'd wish you had the extra $100/mo payment. :)

I just traded my 19 month old Jeep and got $4,000 more than I paid for it brand new. :)

When I bought my 2015 JKU, I had a wrestling match with the dealer to get one thousand off list.
In 01/20/2020 I picked up my 2019 JLU as a leftover, which listed at 43,000.00 and I got it for 37,000.00, long story short always been close to list in NE.
I did something similar, got a 2018 JLUS in 10/2019 for $37k, sticker was $46k.

This OR name names. What dealership are you dealing with? You seem hesitant to reveal this.

So, does the dealer have your trade money or did you sell it outright and get paid?

There is no trade. I am buying free and clear of any trades. The trade is long gone. Sold back to the dealership i putchased it from. The Jeep dealership has the Wrangler in their possession and i signed all the paperwork with the understanding they could not contact the banks that night since the new owners had not signed agreements with said banks, and that i should be all set to pick up the Wrangler the next day. That is now a week ago yesterday.

Sold outright to the chevy dealer i purchased it from. Going into the jeep with no trade, and money down.

Depending on how much you sold it for, you may have lost a couple grand to sales tax by not trading. You only pay sales tax on the difference between the trade in price and the sale price of the new vehicle in most states.

That varies by state, a lot of states charge tax on the full sales price regardless of trade. Fortunately TN is not one of those state and I take full advantage of it.
