I also paid a $1,000 non-refundable deposit which I don’t think I’ll get back if I decide to place a new order. Especially since the initial vehicle is already built.
The bolded text is a huge red flag, for several reasons.

By law, a PA vehicle dealer can't retain an order deposit (in my case, $500.00) if the customer requests that it be returned to him. Obviously, the customer also forfeits the claim to the ordered vehicle, if or when it arrives at the dealership. That's fair enough.

If in fact Maryland allows a non-refundable deposit for such matters, and even if you signed a form stipulating to this fact, you can still make a case for the $1K to be returned to you, if that's what you want. New Wranglers sell themselves, now more than ever, due to current market conditions. There's also the matter of your salesman apparently giving you erroneous vehicle configuration info, although that can quickly devolve into a He said/He said discussion, possibly with no resolution.

Good luck with however you decide to proceed here.

We waited more than 5 months for our diesel last summer/fall. Eventually worth the wait, but man what a pain. Sorry to hear your dealer misled (or lied) to you. You'll probably come out way ahead if you get the 35s yourself after you take delivery. Seems like quarterly the Jeep (and other brands, shop around) will offer "buy 3 get 1 free" tire deals. You can sell your lightly used 33s and make up a lot of the difference (my factory wheel and tire combo set sold for $1200 with ~3k miles when I moved up to 37s; about 40% of the upgrade cost).

If you're looking to lift, I'd also recommend staying away from the dealer/Mopar. The kit isn't very complete and if you decide to upgrade something in the future you will have to replace pretty much all of it. I've been quite happy with my MetalCloak 2.5" Game-Changer. The cost wasn't much more than the Mopar kit (especially with their seasonal sales), WAY more complete, and more stout. The True Dual Rate kit is closer to the Mopar kit and cheaper. You pay a lot for the Fox branded shocks with the Mopar kit and everything else just seems kind of thrown together (also non-adjustable control arms with fixed bushings). Others on here have had good experiences with other brand aftermarket lifts, too. Though with 35s you won't need the lift and the wheel size seems to fit the JLUR really well.

Diesel is worth the other tradeoffs to me. I may regear down the road, as I feel the 4.10 would've been just perfect with the 37s. But for now I'm getting 22-25 mpg with very mixed mountain, highway, offroad, and towing conditions. It'll cruise the highway at 80+ just as happily as amble down any trail I point it towards. On a June overland trip in 110+ degree heat I was getting almost twice the mpg as my buddy's manual JKUR on 37s.

If you want the diesel get the diesel, cant get diesel and Xtreme package. It is not gonna cost you 10k to add a lift and tires, and you dont need to regear.

Buy your tires and lifkit and have it installed asap so you can sell brand new rubi diesel suspension and wheels/tires for a good amount of money.

I have a diesel.
i was bummed to see it is NOT available with the Xtreme Recon package. There is a bright spot though. Order the Mopar Bead Lock wheels, a set of 315 bfg KO2's in a c load range, throw on 1.5" lift, add a Tazer and call it a day.

I reached out to my dealer, he said he’s off today but he will look into what happened tomorrow. In all honesty, if I can’t have it I can’t have it. I’m fine with that, but I need him to just take responsibility.

I actually placed the order back on 6/26 (or so I thought), after thinking delivery was right around the corner (this dealer was receiving JLUR builds in less than 4 weeks), he informed me my order was never actually submitted. He never apologized or took any responsibility for it.
Sounds like every dealership I ever had to deal with. Good luck my friend....hope it works out. ?

Only money down thus far is $1,000 non-refundable deposit to place the order.

But, now that I’m learning I can’t have the Diesel and the XR package it looks like I was just misinformed by my dealer and there’s no way around it.
In the NY/NJ market there is no contract until you sign and take delivery. I put a deposit on mine by check and wrote on the order form "Deposit Refundable" Dealer signed and I signed so that I don't get screwed. I do contracts for a living.

If I hadn’t been going through the process of trying to purchase a vehicle since February I think I might be more inclined to start over (I really wanted a 4WD vehicle before the fall).

I also paid a $1,000 non-refundable deposit which I don’t think I’ll get back if I decide to place a new order. Especially since the initial vehicle is already built.

Worst case scenario, I’ll have to get my own rims/tires, suspension, and reinforced tailgate hinge at a later date. In a nutshell - I’m feeling tired and impatient.
If you decide to cancel, go to Chapman Jeep in Horsham,PA. I can see you the link via message if you want I can explain there too.

If you decide you don’t want it, see what Vroom or Carvana will give you for it. If you got the typical 6% under invoice deal, you should be able to take delivery and make a profit even after paying sales tax.
