Marysville = 9.4%
Ellensburg = 8.3%
Puyallup = 10%
Tacoma = 10.4%

So while you may get the lowest invoice cost, you are going to also going to lose some on higher sales tax on the vehicle.

Sales tax is based on where you live, no where you buy the car
So you can buy in Tacoma but still pay 8.3% if you live in Ellensburg

Well guess it doesn’t matter. I asked if I could share his contact info and he said his manager set him straight. No deal.

Yep. They'd have to gouge the hell out of a trade-in to make that worth their while.

I managed 6% without financing and a trade-in in California.

Got lucky, I suppose. But then again, the difference between 5% and 6% is only something like $450.

Even at 6% the dealer will still get a chunk of profit.
