JLU HEATED SEATS MODULE?!?!

Mine's Tuscadero, and I heard that had officially been discoed in October when I rushed to get my order in-- probably part of why this got overlooked. I am not sure if you can still order Tuscadero (still seeing it on option), but, yeah, I've grown attached to this one!

What's involved in installing it (do I need to slice open my seats and whatnot?) and where does the controller go? I am very crafty, but not at all mechanical.

So I ordered the heated pad from Amazon (I’ll send you a link) and a mopar adapter for the 12v cigarette port, and a pair of hog ring pliers (I’ll send you the links as well)

you have to remove the seats and take them 50 percent apart to install the heat pads you’ll need to cut the old hog rings and put new ones in to make sure you seat stays oem tight. I ran the wires under the center console (super easy on the JL) reinstall the seats, plug everything back in and figure out we’re you want to mount the buttons. I 3d printed a cubby mount from someone on this forum (I’ll post the link).

Appreciate the detail-- that definitely seems WAY above my pay grade. (Not the least of which, the 3D printer moved out with the ex-husb.) But, it's good to know sort of what it looks like so I don't get creamed by the aftermarket install folks, if I have to go that route. (Waiting on calls back from two dealers and someone at a 4x upgrade shop down the mountian.)

Also, I don't know what electrical guts the 4xe comes with, so I think I need to get it set up inside of uConnect or something, right? To get it on the screen?

This thread died a slow death. there's almost enough info to make this work. no you dont have any wiring in place but its not really that much that needs to be added.
- 4 wires per seat (cushion, back) need pins, wire and connectors ( I would run this under the console and split out to the D/P seat
- 2 wires canbus, need pins, wire and connectors
- 1/2 wires from the center stack, pins and wire
- power/grnd for HSM

I'm looking for 2016 WK2 wiring diagram to make a GC ventilated seat work in my JT. I would be willing to make these harnesses as a kit when I get my seat complete and working correctly. But there is enough info here for someone to put the pieces together.

It’s because of the amount of work you’re not accounting for haha. The wiring to the seats is easy ass every model except the base sport has it. It’s all the canbus connections, the control module and the steering wheel harness and modules you also need. The cost is insane if you were to get everything you would actually need. And also the JScan and tazer don’t actually turn on the heated seats so you will need a dealer to add the code

I am told, for other Chrysler products, that AlphaOBD can enable the (factory) heated seat configuration bits. Please treat that as just a possibility to track down, not a hard fact that will apply to Wranglers. But if you can just get your dealer to put the code on there, it seems like money well spent (if everything else is in place).

AlphaOBD for pc is more powerful then the android/iphone app, so I have read. I have tried to enable setting with AlphaOBD and Jscan, either have work so far.

I have a HA trim with all option but cold weather. I dont see any wiring for the HSM under the steering wheel.
Anyone adding aftermarket heats is not getting the steering wheel heated and I dont care about that currently. I want the ventilated ass here in FL! Althought the paddle shifter thread has my attention and that requires a new steering wheels harness!!

I found some links and PN to the connectors in the retrofit trail cam thread but they dont look the same as the glove box CanBus block.

I found 4/5 setting in AlphOBD if I connect as if it a WK2. Present, threshold, etc. Less options as a JT.
Nothing on the screen has changed. I was hoping for greyed out icons! I have a new center stack coming soon with the manual buttons. There seem to be 2 HSM for the JT, 1 ends with 109AA and 1 ends with 873AA.

Gotch on that I have a wiring schmatic and its posted here. Sorry I was referring to PN to buy the connectors and pins. All 4 of the HSM plugs are different from each other and then the CBus connector as well..

For the CAN-IHS bus connector, you'll have to follow the trail of this conversation started by @Temperance a few months back. She led us right to it, and I ordered some from Mouser. (But you'd have to go back through the conversation to determine what was CAN-IHS vs CAN-C vs something else not needed.)

From there you'll need to pin your own connector. Before that (and you'd have to search the conversation) I purchased a CAN repair kit from the dealer, and it had connectors that were already wired up. But they weren't cheap.

EDITING TO ADD: When it came to getting a full harness (or even just identifying the part number of a connector at the end of a harness), this site was invaluable to me. I used it both to chase down a door harness and the CAN-IHS replacement (repair) connector kit. So I'm not giving you a fish here, but I hope I'm passing along the skills to catch a fish if you can take it from there.
