And the final outcome... ZERO COSTS to me to replace the fuse array and both batteries. I had provided the service writer with multiple photos of the warnings, displays, and indications that showed up on the dash. And when a vehicle is running fine and decides to tell me it's about to shut down I'm still not convinced this is due to a flawed "jump start!" Bottom line and directly from the service writer is the "factory batteries are junk!" The fact that you got nearly 3 years out of them in the Florida heat... "you were lucky!"

Local Chrysler Engineer says we can't proved it was jumped backwards. They fuse array failed as far as we are concerned and shorted out the batteries.

And as an added bonus... I will be getting a new windshield in the deal as it was cracked at the dealership when they elected to lay the hood back as opposed to using the prop rod! Lovely!

Hello again...here we are 30 months later since the original problem and the same thing happened once again. Had an oil change back in Dec '24 at 70K miles and the auxilary battery was swaped out under warranty for the voltage being low...now in Mar '25 the main battery has failed. Chrysler says even though its a 36 month battery since it was replaced previously under warranty they wont replace battery. Purchased and installed new battery. Start jeep and less than 2 minutes after starting its Christmas on the dashboard. Jeep is completely dead. Towed to local dealer. Diagnosis is bad alternator and fuse array blown yet again. At first dealer said fuse array was not a warranty item and wanted over $500 to remove and replace. After some discussion with service manager the replacement covered under warranty. It appears this is a recurring issue with the batteries and the autostop function. When one battery fails both need to be replaced it appears. The auto stop/start toast the batteries plain and simple.

The fuse array gets blown when the batteries are disconnected incorrectly. It's easy to do, I've done it myself. Commonly, one removes the positive cable off the main battery, thinking they've disconnected power to the Jeep. If you set the cable aside and it touches almost any metal in the engine bay, the fuse array will blow because you just shorted the small battery without realizing it. It's also not hard to replace the fuse areay yourself.
