I'll take a look at the turbo wastegate, but wouldn't that throw a code also for low boost or no boost? I know there is a boost sensor.

You'd think that it is monitored. There should be an "implausible boost level" or some other code. But if the wastegate is dumping it all overboard, maybe it does not trigger anything. Either way, you have such a massive power loss, that I can't see it being just timing.

Is your Tazer working again? They can show vac/boost on the EVIC.

The Tazer did not recover, but I still have Jscan.

Thanks @gato for pointing me in the turbo direction. Turns out the guy who replaced the turbo failed to reconnect the boost pipe... Had good intentions of cleaning it and the intake up and getting the oil out from the failed turbo, but you know that they say about excuses.

Anyway, she sails up hills now with more power than I need.

Excellent news!!! No better feeling than when it is a simple item that was overlooked and makes all the difference. Sounds like you are close to bringing the Jeep all back to health.
