When you get it, your going to love it! We’ve had ours since June, and have really enjoyed it. Especially driving it off-road and in the snow.

I was looking for the roof options but couldn't find much
Page 4 of spec is all i find.. nothing about dual top group or the sky top and HT3 body colour 3 piece only listed on Overland.
and this rate and at the prices, i think i am out of the JL market. might keep current Y62 patrol or maybe upgrade to a newer one for maybe less than the fully spec Rubicon ( that does not have 33 or colour top.) bit devo really.

I prefer the black top!

In my view, red with a red top looks like a fire engine and yellow with a yellow top looks like a US school bus!

Aussie Rubicon spec (at least I think from looking at the buyer’s guide).

32 Inch tyres – sucks balls.
Black roof only, no colour option – sucks, especially with our hot climate.
Stock low rider fender flares – sucks.
Steel front bumper – that’s good news, but no mention of a steel rear bumper…..hmmmmm? Will we get stiffed with the stock plastic rear bumper?
Cloth seats standard – really at $69 drive away, leather is an option?

By the way there’s no manual option in Australia cause anyone spending that sort of money for a REAL 4X4 wanting a manual transmission will buy a 79 or 76 series landcrusier V8 turbo diesel, why RESALE. Disappointing for those wanting a manual shifter though, should at least be a an option. I prefer the auto myself.

where did you see the Rubicon has the 'stock sport fenders'? Surely that is not right for the Rubicon.
part of the sales pitche is that with the Rubicon and those fenders- built for 35's and 33 as std. ?

i can't even see the power top or the dual top option. very limited tops in the info i read.
Yeah $$ is a killer, the base Rubicon in a colour is like 71k driveaway ( estimated on website) - sure by all other sellers, that might reduce with local dealing (say 5-8k ?). But then i would be looking at every option pack they have (interior leather etc, access switches, colour coding. ) so i think an easy 5k (finger in the air est) so even with a great deal, i still think not much change outta 70k ( or even higher if they not doing deals). That is a lot of $ for a mid size 4x4. that is into the Y62 price range (easy, i can get 70k driveaway) and also other midsize like fords and toyotas. sure its a jeep thing, but i not blind.

See below, Fender flares MM2 same for sport & Rubi. MM3 colour coded fender flares listed as option, but high FF not listed? Hope I'm wrong.

Same Code for Fenders is on the USA site.
i called a Salesman, he seems to be less aware than us.
but is going to try and findout the option pack costs and if the threepcs hardtop on the Rubicon can be got in body colour ( as the sheet says No. ) If pricing was lower - i might be ok with and get it colour coded myself. but at 71k driveaway. yeah nah.
he agrees it is a higher price than he thought. i basically said on road without the 3 option packs its already more than i can get a Patrol for, he told me to go get a patrol then. i said i got one already,
I have even looked at the Sport, it misses out on so many options, it not funny. and it the only one to get the LTD slip diff, can't get that in the Overland even, speaking of Overland, it has 18" rims and 255/70 tyres which are 32's ( Rubi gets 17" and 255/75). so yeah. i currently relooking at how i would make a Sport or overland to what i want.cause it has alot of what i seek,
but not looking good for a JL in my place.

So in Aust, def Black top only on the Rubicon.
So now i have to realize i am unlikely to change for my very comfortable Y62 at this point given price of JL as advertised. its not the end for me, will test drive and inspect and chat etc. who knows- maybe its all part of the many gods plans to get me into a Gladiator in a few years time lol :D
Anyhow- since Black top is only Rubicon, i have been comparing the AU specs of all 3 models.
if i want the auto cruise and blind spot (i don't have them now and meh on that, but the proximity door lock, i which i love on the patrol, is in the same pack. the Sport does not have leather options, does have Hardtop opt and has a LSD option in the pack.... So if i can't option some of these items outside of a pack, then the Sport is out at this point. too many unknowns . So the Overland has all that gear, but can't get a LSD in the rear ( yes WTAF). one bonus is it comes with the 18" wheels , so i could perhaps swap my 286/65R18 BFG ko2 on to it, but then i would need to add a frt bar ( for winch) and recovery points, and do something about the rear diff ( LSD or E locker) and get the mopar aux switches, ballpark i looking at 5k ish for that i reckon. and the Rubicon, i checked the Yella colour and the Green and both looks very nice in the Black top and black fenders, so the question remains- do i want the leather seating /colour fender pack. cost is ?? and yes i would get the Aux switch pack but cost is ?? so still some unknowns there also and with the base price of the overland and rubicon both pushing well into the base price of a new Y62 TI , which has alot of equip including a LSD and rear locker, but misses out on radar cruise and blind spot etc, perhaps i just test and rive and wait, and add more $ into my current y62. lol
and all this could be mute, the first time i punch the V6 throttle as it has some big horses to fill. :D

I don't like leather seats. Too hot and sweaty in shorts.
