I liked the simple JK Sport S wheels. 5 spoke flat face, easy to clean, no weird contours to wipe down.
Jeep is trying WAY too hard on wheel design. Sometimes less is more.

I'm upset they don't have a single freaking GLOSS BLACK wheel.
That's just blasphemy.

Bottom line is, there shouldn’t be downgrades if they’re raising the price..
Maybe FCA should have an option that reduces the MSRP for a tire & wheel package with 4 donut tires and no spare. I hate paying for crap I don't want.

Don’t buy the lowest trim available then. Or man up and buy whatever wheels tickle your fancy
Perhaps the OP feels that for the price, even the lowest trim available should not disappoint.

And if it does, perhaps he doesn't equate risky behavior with manliness when it comes to paying his credit card bill.

Rephrased by metaphor: maybe skydiving with experienced outfits whose reserve chutes are packed by licensed packers reflects guts, (i.e. an example of controlled risk), but charging the cost on a credit card loan does not.

I can’t share my opinion?.. too much sensitivity here. No way to avoid buying the wheels, if you’re buying the car..
Bottom line...give me more choices from the manufacturer. How hard could that be especially when I'm willing to spend more. It's a waste to pay for an ugly factory wheel only to sell it for half price so I can go out and buy aftermarket wheels which are probably heavier and with the wrong offset etc. not to mention being a pain to accomplish. Offer more options Jeep, take my money and make me happier. Novel idea.

Fair point. Ask your dealer if they will swap out Sport wheels for your Sport S wheels for a credit.

see thats where you messed up...you said car! lol kidding yea I agree, stock wheels are meh at best. I like the Rubicon standard wheels the best out of all of them (which is what I got so maybe I am biased....either way I like them the best). Those Sahara wheels are ugly, the ones that look like half a blower motor/ hamster wheel or something. Sport wheels are on par...even JK Sport wheels looked cheap. Sport S wheel options are decent I guess, Sahara is :puke:, and Rubicon "upgraded" wheels are meh.

I am not comparing using something better to manliness. I am saying instead of complaining and being a pessimist I tackle things head on or “put my big boy pants on”. You are playing with my words.
If he needs to upgrade the wheels on a base model car, of any manufacturer, by putting it on a credit card then he should probably reconsider purchasing the said car.
There’s options available from mopar he can upgrade to, and thousands aftermarket that do in fact have the correct offset, size etc he’s looking for.
Every manufacturer makes certain wheels for certain trim classes. To want an upgrade to a base package is the exact reason manufacturers make multiple trim packages...to upgrade the choices of options!!

You may not have intended to compare something better to manliness, but your words quintessential did.

"... Or man up and buy whatever wheels tickle your fancy"

There's no room for debate--I'm not playing with your words or drawing subordinate/alternative meaning from them. You equated upgrading with manliness then, if not also clarified your position now which seeks more to separate adult from child, than man from wimp.

There are a lot of ways to drive home the point of the OP getting the wheels he likes, "the wheels that serve your purposes, the wheels that you find most appealing," tickling his fancy connoting (i.e. implying) the least notions of manliness or even pragmatism (i.e. practicality.)

Reading your comments, what I think you intended to say is that the OP has options, including not complaining, especially since he can grow up (not man up) -- i.e. stop complaining, and spend money on a solution to his problem: albeit with all the downsides associated with parting with funds to do so. (Your point: is isn't as if solutions to this problem are unavailable.)

To that alternative point, and your "If he needs to upgrade the wheels on a base model car,"....and by the way let's assume you meant "vehicle." I say this because I don't want to even touch the debate on the Wrangler not being a car. Rather, I'd like to hone in its new entry cost, independent of what category people choose to label the Wrangler as--knowing it is a lot of different things to a lot of different people.....

.....towards that end maybe, rather than complaining, the OP is expressing an opinion that's better defined as well founded, rather than complaining, that says 'at this price, all trim levels should meet a basic threshold of visual pleasantness.'

I may agree or not, either that the base tires are bad looking, or that their less than desired appearance rises to the threshold of sharing, but I definitely don't think such ideas meet the threshold of complaining. I respect his right to express opinion without his sexuality being brought to the forefront. And I'm not prim and proper either. If the OP had voiced concerned that the Lilly Pullitzer editons of the JK (a flowery based women's fashion designer) weren't "flowery enough," I admit less willingness to come to his defense, if not also respect his opinion

We can though agree to disagree.

Boy, you really latched on to the whole 'man-up' thing didn't you?

Jeep Wrangler JL JL Wheels let down 1dash3

Back OT, I definitely did find the current selection of wheels underwhelming--aside from the Rubicons. Which I 100% agree with OP's statement that there should be satin black as standard. At least it will be available eventually.

...but since it isn't available now, I'm making them satin black, so w/e.

This is one of those internet forum things where a little delay makes 2 people that would probably be agreeing and drinking a beer, instead be arguing due to delays and how easy it is for text to lose context.

Irl it would be:
"I hate those damn stock tires"
"F it man up and put real ones on"
"Oh ya, F it get me a beer"
"did you see tire X on sale at blah blah, I can get ya a deal"
"Oh, cool, running out of cash wish I could have stuck with stock ones longer"
"Ya, they do suck. ah well screw them lets get better ones on it"

/shrugs 1st world problems lol

Especially when they're standard on most 20k Toyota corollas and other cars now a days . That could go a long way on the look of the Stock jl.

My Altitude JK had gloss black, with a tiny polished lip.
But wait. Jeep is now including wheels on the Sport S that were once only available on special editions. As someone else mentioned in another thread, the JL Sport S wheels are copies of the JK Recon and Chief special edition wheels. Those owners of JK Special Editions won't be happy that their once special wheels are now standard alloys on the base Sport S.

I was hoping someone noticed that too. I've been seeing the same thing especially fully loaded rubicon jks going for over 45-50k with the jl sport s wheels. Lol like come on Jeep thats jus messed up
