Hi everyone,
I have a 2018 JLU Sahara. Over the past couple of months I have been receiving both mail and email from the dealer telling me they want to offer me a premium value for my Jeep due to the market for used Jeeps. I have held off going to the dealer because Im fairly certain they arent going to give me a "premium" value for it and don't want to have them waste my time.

Has anybody else with a recent model JLU received this offer from the dealer and actually got a above market value for their tradein?

A lot of members have sold their Jeeps to Carvana or Vroom or AutoNation or CarMax. Used car values are modestly lower from their all time highs, but if you're interested in getting pricing transparency, you're better off using Vroom and Carvana or even KBB instant cash to get a sense on pricing.

Typical marketing tool to get you into the dealership. Your Jeep is worth more than normal times (remember those?) because of supply and demand. The Commonwealth just valued my 20 model at $5k more than I paid for it NEW when I got me 2022 registration. Weird times indeed.

This is one of oldest dealer tricks to get you in a new one...but it is also true that values are up at the moment.

You are likely to get a LOT for your used JL, but you are also going to pay a lot more, and then some, for a new one.

The exact same spec JL to my 2018 now costs $4,000 more simply due to rising prices, and its now harder to get a juicy discount. Plus I’d have to pay tax and license all over again.

Personally, I don’t see the point.

I traded my 18 JLUS with 63xxx miles for 36k. I thought it was decent.

You can get all kinds of discounts just look under orders section. 5% under invoice is not uncommon. They just went up in Jan but not much different from ordering one 2 years ago. Plus upper trims have $2600+ options as standard now.

I sold my 2018 JLU with 50000 miles for 32 I would have got 34 thousand if I didn't report an accident (under 1 mile an hour) and no damage! Ordered my 22 Wrangler from Koon for 6% under invoice which had a msrp of 47,000 and got it for 41,500 tags and taxes not included in price.
