JL TAILGATE QUESTION

Hi everyone, im sure some of you have seen the tailgate latch alignment cover/stop ?

my tailgate doesn't sag or i haven noticed anything odd about it, just wanted to get your opinions

I got mine from China, it's the exact same thing as the Amazon one. It's just where it originates from.

It's worthless. Other than a different look, it achieves nothing the original piece doesn't.

Save your money and buy something that actually has a purpose. This one is purely cosmetic.

I got this next one because someone on the Mods from China thread had recommended it. I'm starting to think now that was a sarcastic recommendation. Other than being showy and red, it doesn't seem to really do anything that the OEM one didn't already do. It looks cool, but does it look $16 cool? Maybe. I'm going to chalk this one up to wasted money.

2021 JL and mine looks like the “before” picture below. And I don’t care. It works and doesn’t make any noise at all. And when the tailgate is closed, you can’t see it anyway.

Agree with above. No reason to replace it if it ain’t broke. ?

Install of such a Tailgate Latch Stop Bumper was a real plus.... a very positive thing, for myself and other's that had issues with JL tail gate clunking, rattling, etc..

IF, if your JL's tail gate does not clunk/rattle, etc. on washboard roads and such then no need for such an aftermarket Tailgate Latch Stop Bumper. If it ain't broke don't fix it...
