JL Retractable Sunshade

If it were available now, would you order a JL Retractable Sunshade?

Disappointed.
Normally a non-answer is a bad sign.

Yup. The "no news is good news" thing doesn't apply when it comes to release of new products. It generally means it's really delayed, or dead.

I was tired of waiting on Bestop retractable shade. So I installed a Jtops bikini under my Sunrider for Hardtop.
First I will say the Jtops bikini shade is NOT intended to be used this way.
There are no openings at the windshield for the Sunrider latches.
I used the red hot knife method to cut these openings in the Jtops shade.
The Jtops shade can now remain attached with the Sunrider closed and latched.
One of the positives of the Jtops shade is that it covers all four sides of the cage end to end with no bungies.
70mph almost zero flutter and no wind inside with a four windows up a/c on.
Ordered teal, now we always have a blue sky in Ohio.

Absolutely no noise at all from mine. I drove on the interstate (with it closed) for about 1.5 hours and it was just as quiet as my Freedom panels. No wind noise, no flutter, no mysterious cracking noise. Riding around the surface street it's been just as good opened/closed.

Inside the black line is a stiffening rod.
Note I have the black Mopar headliners so the picture with the Sunrider closed is dark.
Filters the sun and the wind while still letting both in.

Yeah, they kinda ghosted us on this. Drop a teaser in May, a few follow up responses saying they're "working" on it, and then nothing since June.
I've already got my Sunrider, I'd sure love to add a retractable shade but it seems that's not happening. It's a shame because I think they'd sell pretty well. Maybe not a top selling item, but surely sales would cover cost of R&D, especially since they're only really adjusting the JK design to fit the JL.

Hey all,

I continually mention this to our aftermarket team for you so it does not fall off the radar, however there is still no ETA on it. Sorry :(
