What's up with the pins? Do you screw them in to the doors hinge and you can lift the door right off the hinges with no unscrewing at all? I have heard of doors getting stolen :(

If the door is closed, it can't be removed

You can leave them on full time. Unless you are upside down with door open its not falling off. Doors locked no one is taking your door. If anyone wanted your door and it was unlocked, they could unscrew bolt in 60 secs and take your door.

Main use of the pins is they help you slide door back on without worrying chipping hinge paint from the sharp screw left exposed.
