line them up! test it out.

I personally think my Jeep feels pretty damn quick for what it is.. even lifted on 37s .. she scoots
I have to say, my 3.6 JLUR fricken kicks through the gears (8) very nicely. It's quite fast...

I don't have any complaints either with my 3.6L. Not gonna win a drag race against a Demon, but not like I would try.

3.6 JL is quick but I find that I have to really put my foot down to get it to move. Accelerator pedal seems to have a longer throw than other vehicles.

Believe it or not - and my JL is a 6-speed standard - running higher octane (89) markedly improved the performance of my V6. I believe the higher compression than previous versions of the Pentastar and the computerized octane sensor work well to utilize the higher octane for delayed ignition and a little more punch.

Better, smoother, and eliminated knock and lug at lower RMPs. Peppy and fun.

Try a tank...can't hurt.

Take it to the (imaginary)Jeep drag strip and test it. OR... who cares 0-60... it's about torque.

I have a JLUR (auto, stock tires/wheels) and it feels considerably slower than my Pacifica Limited (which has basically the same motor, though a 9spd trans.) in all situations (light, moderate and heavy throttle). My Wrangler also feels slower than the V6 Grand Cherokees I have had as loaners over time.

What is strange to me is that Car and Driver tested the JLUR to be quicker than the Pacifica 0-60 by a couple of tenths. I never timed a 0-60 run but I would be shocked if my Pacifica were slower than my Jeep.

Can anyone else with other vehicles equipped with FCA's 3.6L V6 comment? Same experience? Or is there something wrong with my Jeep?
All I can tell you is that I've had three vehicles (JKU, Challenger, JLU) with the 3.6L and my parents recently had a Grand Cherokee with the 3.6L, and my JLU feels like a rocket ship. The thing will even spin the 35" tires from a red light if I punch it. It surprises me how strong it feels. If I put the stock wheels and tires back on it now it would really impress me more I'm sure. I've gotten used to the big tires. But yeah...this thing is fast for a Jeep. The PUG version of this engine combined with the excellent gearing in the 850RFE and the standard 3.45 axle gears is nice.

I can second that. I ran a couple tanks of 87 octane and decided to try a tank of 91 octane. The engine definitely idles smother and quieter. I feel a bit better performance as well. I might just stick with 91 for now.

It's faster. If you were looking for better performance, it was the engine of choice. I test drove both back to back in TX and CO and it was night and day different.

I did not know this , so the 2.0 is that much faster. It’s hard to believe It’s night and day with my 3.6. I really can’t wait to do a on ramp drag race and see how bad I get beat and if I can at least keep up. That 2.0 must really haul butt.

I just checked YouTube and there is no 3.6 versus 2.0 videos. Should we set up a drag race a little one on one action and see how bad the 2.0 smokes the 3.6 and post the video ?
