That sounds horrible. Was the dealer able to figure out the problem? I have a less serious one, but only when the engine is cold. If I coast to a stop, the engine will rev to over 2000 until the jeep comes to almost a complete stop or until I push in on the clutch. And if I’m in second and braking to slow down, the engine will rev and try to speed up the jeep. And that has caused me to come close to rear ending the car in front of me. I’ve had manual cars all my life, and never anything like this. Has anyone ever replaced the drive-by-wire throttle body with a mechanical one?
The dealer and Mopar drove it for 30 minutes and ruled nothing was wrong with the jeep but both my husband and I feel it rev up even when on the highway now.
The good news is the judge dismissed my ticket which was great since Mopar kept my jeep for a month to try to find something. Later they stated that they could not because it was going so slow at the time that the black crash box didn't record anything. There was minimal damage to my bumper and the fender of the bike was damaged. The first vehicle it tapped I think the lady just wanted a payday from my insurance or me and I had not one mark on my bumper nor could see one mark on her car either but insurance wrote her a check for a new bumper... bet she didn't even get it fixed. So no resolution to the surging. We just keep a very lengthy distance behind cars coming to a stop.
