Picking up our Jeep tomorrow …

Currently I have AAA and I have used them (battery dead or flat tire). With a new Jeep the road side assistance seems to be included. Can I cancel AAA or is it better to keep it - not sure how good Jeeps road side assistance program is? But also don’t want to spend money on it twice

Never used Jeep Wave for that, I used it for Tire Rotations and Oil Changes. Not sure I would trust if for roadside. Once it expired I did not extend it. I have always had AAA, I will note that when it was time to replace my battery I contacted AAA about doing it but they do not carry batteries for the JLU that was a year ago. I replaced it myself which was cheaper for sure, just liked the feeling that AAA would warranty the battery no matter where I was on the road.

Boy can I remember the days of a $50 battery in my 81 Yota P/U not so much these days. I would trust AAA over Jeep for roadside assistance.

Depends on what the Jeep wave roadside covers. Compare both plans and see what best fits your needs. I personally have AAA, I’ve used them and trust them way more than Jeep.

You might consider using the roadside assistance that comes with your new Jeep until it expires, then enroll in AAA or the program of your choice. Check with your insurance company, a number of them provide the coverage too depending on your provider and state.

Have you used the AAA service yet? How was response time? I thought I read a post a while back that the Jeep Wave help was sub par at best.

As another note I have roadside assistance with my insurance, State Farm. It covers towing, delivery, locksmith, mechanic, tire changes etc . . .

I can call them and they arrange or I can arrange myself and submit the bill. I have used the towing 2X now. Had to get the Audi home and another time our daughter slid half in the ditch. Called a tow truck and arranged the help myself then submitted the bill to insurance. More footwork on you but faster response as you can set the times. The towing they tow to the nearest facility but I was able to get the Audi towed home which is farther than the nearest shop and they still paid.

Yeah, before you pay twice check and see what your insurance covers and what your credit card covers. Most people already have some sort of roadside coverage and don't know it.

FWIW, I wouldn't trust Jeep Wave. And I've seen many times where AAA takes hours to arrive, and the tow truck they show up with is often the wrong one for the job. AAA contracts with the lowest bidders in your area.

I like that AAA covers all your vehicles, and even covers friends and family if your in the vehicle.

DO NOT rely on any towing services from Jeep or the extended warranty they sell. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/do-not-buy-the-stellantis-platinum-warranty.115015/

However, on the plus side, after the warranty company denied my claim because no parts were replaced, I got in touch with Jeep Cares and they reimbursed me for the expenses.

I'd recommend some company that allows you to get your own services and will reimburse you. The problem with these companies is they are for profit and low ball towing companies who will just pass on the job. They'll tell a towing company, "we'll give you $25 to tow this vehicle 100 miles for us!" No towing company is going to accept that, it's not worth their time. Tow companies make up their own prices on the spot, no rhyme or reason for the prices they ask. I waited a couple hours then finally called a tow company and they said, "we'll be there in 30 minutes" because I agreed to pay their price. The tow companies have you by the balls when you're stuck like that.

I called AAA just earlier this week for my tire … they came within 45 min so not too bad.But we live in a larger city. The guy was rude though and didn’t really want to do what he had to do (help me and put my spare on)
