Do you wave only to oncoming traffic or do you somehow awkwardly wave when you’re driving next to one as well?

Personally I don't really want to wave at anyone. Seems exhausting. I watch the bikers do it and think about the southpark episode where they make fun of Harley riders, makes me laugh everytime.

I'm in your neck of the woods, 92139. I taught my wife about the Wave when we traded her Liberty in for the Wrangler. First time she tried it she got the one finger salute back. Gotta love Comifornia. Needless to say she does not wave. I put a wave sticker on the driver mirror and called it a day.
Absolutely awful! What jerks.

Here in Ohio, most of us wave to each other. Maybe the Midwest is just a little friendlier ;)
I'm sure you're right. Or, it's possible us in SoCal have one hand on the wheel and the other busy texting. Wouldn't be safe to take a hand off the wheel.

Ha! I tried waving to someone in a Jeep next to me. Nothing. I think I'll try Toyota Tacomas tomorrow.

I've never gotten the finger in response. I would say that I've gotten a wave back more often than not when I have waved first. I've had a few initiate the wave, most of which were modified (mostly JKs).

Here in Wyoming out in the sticks, everyone waves no matter what they are driving! In the big city of Sheridan (not big at all) I even had a couple of people driving their Jeeps wave. Guess it all just depends on where your located.

Here in Michigan...I just picked mine up last Saturday. That weekend I got 6 of the 7 Jeeps I saw to wave. Mostly just a peace sign from the steering wheel. This week I have barely got any, but it was also raining and rush hour traffic so I am giving benefit of a doubt.

Ah, I see who you are.
Who’s that? The guy who’s been here long enough to have seen this discussed to death 6 other times?

Don’t get me wrong. I wave, and I don’t want discourage anyone’s discussion of the topic.

<soapbox rant>
My irritation is two fold: 1) people don’t search before starting new threads, 2) forum search is not so good (Google with site keyword, however, is excellent).

Take the “does Tazer parasitically draw the battery” topic. Currently, there are FOUR threads discussing it. I’m keenly interested in that topic, so I have to monitor all of them. Then, yesterday, a guy starts a brand new thread on the topic to say, “I saw this discussed and am here to say I’m not affected.” :facepalm:

I get it. I do. It’s a forum with thousands of members, and new ones join every day. I’m human and get annoyed like the rest of you, from time to time.
</soapbox rant>
