I do all my own oil changes as well but "free" is too good to pass up sometimes. If I put the oil in, I have a lot of faith in it. Maybe I'm reading this wrong as it is my first braided wire dipstick. There is a little bit of oil on the braided wire, here is a picture of the dipstick fresh off the pull.

EDIT: Maybe it's spot on, when I run a paper towel on the braided part there is clearly a little oil. I think I'd feel better forgoing my 3rd "free" oil change.
This looks perfect. The oil level is at the top of the "safe zone".

I'm going on a trip tomorrow and I checked the oil on our Jeep and it was clearly overfilled during my Jeep Wave oil change. I think it is the typical 1 quart overfill. Any thoughts on how bad that would be if I ran my 400 mile trip on an overfill? I've already put 3000 miles on that oil level. My dad's shop always puts an extra quart in on his Chevy Colorado and it has 170K on it with no leaks as they say "It can take an extra quart". I do my own vehicle work and should have double checked the wave change. I don't have time to drain a quart down before I leave. Any thoughts?
The time it took you to write this post, you could have had that quart drained by now lol. You dont even need ramps to get under these things.

On the other hand, "free" sometimes costs way too much.

My picture wasn't the best. The oil spot on the side wasn't a roll from the dipstick. I drained 1.2 qts out before heading on our trip. I remember that I DID check the oil after the change but newer oil is hard to see on that darker colored dipstick. I remember because the dealership bent my safety latch during the oil change.

Here is the best picture I can get of the dipsitck AFTER draining the oil.

Does anybody who is very familiar with this engine know if 1qt high is going to hit the crank? I figure that if I complain to the dealer they will file it under GFY.
