I wave at Jeeps all the time - even though I don't own a Jeep, and I drive a big clunky Ram 3500.

sometimes they wave back; I figure it's good practice ;)

As we were driving to visit some friends this weekend, and being bored of running into so many Jeeps (and not being able to wave while driving my JL yet), I waved at one!....while driving my Kia Sorento ! Lol
The look on my wife’s face was between amused and worried about my current obsession ! Lol
I wish I could’ve seen that guy’s face too ! Lol

Does anyone ever forget when they are driving their other car and wave? It's actually comical to see the confused looks.
Haha me! I drive our old wrangler at my parents beach house for days at a time and sometimes get into my current car the next day I wave :cwl: It’s ok though cause I’m used to people thinking I’m a little crazy.

Damn guys. I always wave. Hope you don’t discriminate against me cause I’ll only be driving a slightly modified 4 door Sahara. Just cause I’m a hockey/football/field hockey mom doesn’t mean I wouldn’t rather be on a trail (which don’t exist in the Boston area) or pulling onto a drive-on beach. And yes, my freedom tops will be off as often as possible, and the (DELAYED) soft-top will be open all summer! ;)

This is my 3rd Jeep and 2nd Wrangler. I always wave. For those of you that wave keep it up and for those that don’t you should start. It’s part of the cultur and tradition. Also can add a little happiness to your life just being part of the community. I live in Florida and have noticed more and more old people driving Jeeps and they are the ones that don’t wave.

I wave for each Wrangler I see, and most of the time I get a wave back. I think some people are just not paying attention, or are clueless about the Jeep Wave.

This is the 2nd Jeep I've owned (1st Wrangler) and I wave. Haven't noticed receiving a wave back yet. I had a couple Harley's in the past so I understand the nature of the community when having a special ride. Plus I like to live on the friendlier side.

This is my first Wrangler. I had a Liberty before. I am not opposed to waving at all Jeeps, but I will say in the 14 years that I drove the Liberty I received very few waves. Now that I am driving a Wrangler, if they wave at me, I will wave back. I just think most of those that drive the other models are not the enthusiasts that Wrangler drivers are. With that out of the way, this weekend I taught my 10 year old daughter about the wave. She thought I was pulling her leg. I’m happy to report all 5 of the Wranglers that we passed waved or waved back and each time she thought it was cooler than the last. Keep waving people, because the anticipation and look on her face each time was definitely worth the cost of upgrading to this awesome vehicle.

Long Island/NYC sucks. Nothing here and I'm just the fool who waves at every Jeeper and get nothing back.

Ok Wrangler owners in CO what gives......my brother-in-law (whom had a JKUS) and the dealer told me to wave at other Wrangler owners to be part of this exclusive Jeep wave movement......only no one seems to care.

This is my first Wrangler and I'm trying to uphold the high standards bestowed upon me but seriously I think my chances of getting a wave back have been far less than 50%.

Sooooo, is there just too many Wranglers in CO and so no one cares anymore or did my brother-in-law and dealer set me up to be on some TV show that has morons waving at passing Jeeps????????
I purchased my 2018 JKU January 31st 2018. I see jeeps all over the place, every day, and I've only had two people wave.

I think most of the owners don't really care (or know about) the jeep community. It's just a vehicle to them so they aren't aware it's a 'thing'.

FYI, as the new jeep owner, according to jeep wave etiquette, I do wave first :like:

I have this one guy, driving a blacked out, lifted JK. Looks nice. I see him everyday on my way home. I wave every time, he hasn't yet!

If I give him the double middle finger next time, think he'll finally notice and at least give me a finger back...something? Would this be bad form, lol, or is he deserving?

Same in Maryland. This is my third Wrangler. 1st one I had in college back in the late 90's and I would say 75-80% waived. Second wrangler I had was an early JK unlimited and I would say maybe even higher % waiving with that one. I picked up my jl few weeks ago, its been about 5-6 years since a have driven a wrangler and I have been shocked to see how few wrangler owners waive anymore. I actually commented to my wife about this last week. I would say maybe 10-15% are still waiving. Sad because that was another cool part of owning a wrangler, you felt like you belonged to a group. I am not sure if the lack of waive is due to newbies not knowing about the waive or seasoned snobs not wanting to waive to those with unmolested wranglers. Maybe a bit of both. After a few weeks of no waive backs I have kinda given up myself but my wife is still pushing on.
Also Maryland here but I get better results. I'm over 50%. The key is always wave. Eventually even the dummies will maybe figure it out. Not waving because it doesn't meet some established personal threshold is a quick way to eventually kill the wave entirely. If some young kid gets Wrangler and is stoked about the wave but suddenly finds others aren't waving to him because his isn't the "right" kind of Wrangler, that'll demoralize somebody pretty fast. I have at every mall crawler, blinged out chrome monster, or any other Wrangler. They are all Wranglers and should be respected as such.

One add on to my last. We go to St. Croix a few times a year and I'd say a good 50% of the rental cars are JKs. My wife and I both have Wranglers and I'm on my second one. We're pretty used to waving an always do....except when we are down there. I've also heard this is an issue in Hawaii and other locations where Wranglers are a dominant rental vehicle. They should give out brochures and the rental companies that explain your responsibilities.

2018 JLUs are not getting off road pages or Jeep Wave service, FCA just confirmed in a tweet from Trump
