That won't work reliably, because the box has a secondary built in LTE antenna.
There are two antenna plugs, also noted in the doc you shared. Not aware of a "built-in" antenna. Even if there would be one, it can be also disabled once you get access to the box.

You will also need to disable the Wifi one too.

Use some self adhesive aluminum foil or a faraday bag to encapsulate the box to deal with the built in antennas.

See 9. aerial LTE, its a built in antenna

I've got a fakra female to female connector on order, going to try bypassing the TBM's GPS by disconnecting then passing it through, then powering down the TBM.

My warranty says 3/36k bumper to bumper and 5/60K power train warranty. It would be stupid to deny warranty service within these limits. They would go bankrupt….

Tracking of any sort is BS. Maybe unsubscribe if they have that option - and ask to disable due to privacy. Blah blah blah. Even cut - but you may get some idiot light popping up somewhere.

Not sure about FCA but Porsche tracks rev speed in the black box data that can be pulled. I recall there are like 5 rev zones and it is shown for each gear. So our 6 speed manual short shift had a few overrevs in first. But not many when we bought it with like 5K miles.

Actually wanted that data to know how abused it was before buying it. Since then have abused it to rev limiter a lot more than that - via hot Italian tune-ups. Haha!

So much fun as the flat 6 behind your back loves to growl - then roar at full tilt. The raw mechanical sounds are so sublime for a mid-engine naturally aspirated.

But yeah - FCA has got to stop that nonsense. Especially if you were never informed or did not consent to that.

Also, pretty sure it is illegal to sell that info without our consent.
Except Stellantis offers an opt-out form to stop sharing info with others. So, that suggests they somehow obtained our consent.

What the fuck kinda hard acceleration are you doing in a jeep wrangler lmao. Unless it's a 392 anyway.

Who knows what the algorithm spits out. Years ago I drove a car that monitored those things (I think it had Progressive Snapshot plugged in). Driving on the interstate just before rush hour, traffic went from 65 to 0 due to a wreck a half mile ahead. I stopped accordingly and appropriately, the nose of the car didn’t even dip. Hard brake. Accelerating with the traffic once it started moving again. Hard acceleration.

This is a common practice. You are allowed to opt out, but you must know it’s available and go through the procedure to do so, or it’s considered implied consent. IMO, this is bass akwards, you should have to opt in. The default option is typically the company’s, union’s, employer’s, etc chosen and wanted one that’s too their benefit.

if neither option was too their benefit
Choose one
1. Opt in
2. Opt out ✔
