I had previously purchased the 2 piece Spider Web shades but after installing the Bestop, I realized that does not fit (rear no, front yes) even though they say it will. So now I run the front shade with this set up. I am leaning very hard on spending the cheddar for the EXR roof rack system that fits under the soft top, so we can still haul kayaks with the soft top.

Regardless of what you choose, somebody will hate it and others will envy you. Do you and enjoy friend.
Wow thanks for the heads up on the EXR soft top system...that is such a cool idea!

I'm glad you mentioned the EXR system because I just gave it another look. This might be exactly what I need.....I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out a long term solution for my Kayak in the summer with the soft top on and didn't realize 1) the soft top can be folded up with it, 2) it can transition to the hard top as well.

It's not super clear on their site however does anyone know if you can mount other racks on these bars? I have Yakima jaylow kayak carrier and Yakima fatcat ski/snowboard carriers.

Yeah not the easiest info to track down but they do mention the "EXR Solid Crossbars" accept most other manufacturer's roof top accessories using their wrap around and bolt on system.

I would delve a little deeper here

Something nobody told me before I went to the soft top was that when it's down all the way, you cannot see out the rear view at all.

The JLU's soft top, when lowered and stowed correctly, shouldn't sit nearly as high as yours does. The folding framework is held and kept down via a locking switch on both sides of the roll bar.

When everything is in order, the driver will still have some rearward visibility via the rearview mirror.

I was wondering if it was supposed to go down lower. I have the Diabolical Slipstream with the 4" removable top drawer so it sets on that but I can still access it and slide the drawer out with top resting. I gotta be able to lock up my stuff.

Upon further inspection do you always take the arms out of the track? Keep them in and try and fold back. If not, perhaps the slipstream? I don't have experience with it.

I don't take anything out of a track. That's how the Bestop trek top works. Slides back. Slides forward. Easy peasy.

Just FYI the EXR sight has a Memorial weekend sale right now. 20% off everything. They also have 50% off the JK racks!
Just bagged my new set up with Kayak mounts for $1200 and the 20 percent paid the $250 shipping.

Was there a code for it? I'm on my phone rn and don't see anything being applied automatically in the cart.
