I’m a 1 who wishes he lived somewhere that allowed him to be a 2 more often. So more of a suburban 1 who gets to vacation as a 2 a few times a year.

I don't know yet. Had the jeep for just a week shy of two months. I'm somewhere in between "she really needs a bath" to "DAMN that mud looks good with Hydroblue".

I'm about a 1.5 I suppose. Part of the issue is that I live in Texas gulf coast flatlands with the nearest hills, rocks, for offroading is at least 5 hours away. While the beach is 20 miles away, so my jeep is a dune buggy.

But several of the 2.0 category apply to me as well.

- I will definitely drive down old 2 track just to see where is goes.
- Beach drivers with brains all carry basic self rescue gear plus basic first aid and a fire extinguisher
-- but a winch for self rescue isn't much use when there are no trees.
Jim, that winch will still work with no trees, ya just need an anchor. Bury that big round one on the back in a nice deep hole, with a small trench out for the cable and you’ve got a pretty decent anchor. Not as easy as a tree, but beats the heck out of staying stuck?. Saved my tail a few times in years gone by when hung up and out of range of a tree-need a pretty deep hole but it’ll work.

I’m a pussy so 1 it is! LOL. Use mine as a daily driver but as a contractor carry ladders and pipe on the top rack bars. I would go off-roading if we had 30 hours in a day but alas, I’m relegated to worker bee and computer duties sending out quotes and shaking hands.
Either way, love the family.

About a 2.61 here. Getting older so the big challenges I let slide as I don't have the best judgement anymore ( did I ever?) and want to drive not walk home. I do still enjoy the Jeep experience and will hopefully for a good long time. On my 10th Jeep, have 3 currently.

I'm a 1 and 4. Just call me Walter. It is my daily driver (which is not far because I"m in a small town), but just knowing that I can cut across a field and into the woods for absolutely no reason is satisfying to me. I need to be up high. After going through 2 back surgeries, I cannot get into a car that I have to even bend down slightly (my husbands Cadillac - hate it). The only trails I go on are up at my parents summer house in northern MN. Just sandy logging trails. NO MUD will touch my Rubi. I want the look of it all, as I'm a total tomboy. But this is also my baby and I don't want a scratch on it. I want it to shine and be spotless. Can't help it. Make fun all you want, I'm having a blast mall crawling and being a pavement princess. It was also purchased with all this already on it, so I would have no idea how to get it off anyhow. Took the hi lift jack off because it was super annoying rattling around, and I have roadside assistance and AAA. I can't even lift 25 pounds, let alone one of these tires.

Closest to a 2 with the 3A, 2.8 with my substantially modded 5, a 1 with shades of 4 with my JL (392), still have the 3A for hunting/ brush busting etc. My son correctly laughed when I got it and said “ you won’t do any serious off roading with it “ , the truth didn’t even hurt, must come with age.

Guess I'm a Jeeper, since mine's a daily driver and will be kept mostly stock (but will unlikely be kept 'pristine').

Think there also needs to be a classification for all the 'Garage Queens' that only come out on sunny weekends during the summer. Guess they can sorta fall into any of those categories, but the vast majority of Wranglers I see around here are strictly for on-road cruising around on a nice Saturday or Sunday and are always pristine since they're rarely driven (nothing wrong with that or anything!)

Are those the names of your dogs or places you hunt? I'm guessing from your avatar, one is North and the other South.

Both are Wirehaired Pointing Griffons. Gus is a 6-year-old male from Whitefish Montana and Freyja is a 5-year-ols female from England. When not hunting or hiking, they are couch potatoes.

Hmmm - I don't really fall into any of those categories. Except once when it was bone stock, I've not been "off-roading". Really no place to do it within a few hundred miles (going through glorified mud pits doesn't count).

I've got quite a few mods on it, but they are all (mostly) centered around owning and towing a boat. Winch? That's for raising a 400lb lift to get stuff off the ground at the camp (also for pulling the boat trailer out of the yard if it has been raining).

Bigger tires, but not huge, because that would reduce WHP and towing manners.

Can we have another category for "guys that built their Jeeps for a purpose, but that purpose ain't offroading"?
